I learned to trim my sails with my eyes closed and feeling thr wind and listening to my sails. I had an amazing teacher and reccommend learning this way. And you definitely need to KNOW all the parts of the sail. There is NO replaceme for being in the cockpit and on the water to learn sail trim.

What kind of varnish are u guys talking about? Polyurethane or some classic 100 layer type of joke? As far as I know polyurethane clear coat lasts a number of years and when it finally “oxidizes” you just quickly sand it with 320 grid and apply a fresh layer of polyurethane and Bob’s your uncle

what's the advantage/disadvantage of using this vs a sea kayak? Is this faster than a sea kayak? I don't need the sleeping cabin.

I have a lot of experience wthis 5ype of epoxy, tho I only use it outdoors with a mask. You could at least have a fan, indoors. And I've never tried multiple coats of it, I would just do one coat of liquid, then cloth, and then liquid top of that. West system has a booklet on how to use it, which is important to read.

Not sure I understand why someone would need to “varnish” over epoxy. Can’t clear epoxy be a stand-alone top coat that’s already superior to any varnish?

I love this idea a lot. I am seeing quite a few different designs, but none of them "for sale". They are all plans and/or kits. I am purchasing a classic sailing yacht. I'll like to keep her without davits. But finding the time for a project like this would be very tough. This is one of my favorite designs I've seen so far.

I'd like to thank you for saving me a great deal of time and money. I used to think that learning how to sail would be fun. However, after watching this video, the wind has been officially taken out of my sails.

is it possible to add the front row system to this boat? or do you have a front-row system that one could have as an option when purchasing your boat? that is really what I am looking for! or a twin boat set-up so two people can row facing each other as well as sleep comfortably in the boat! that would really nice for a couple 💞

Just happened upon this video. Being relatively new to sailing beginning to get the hang of it all, I must say, I never have come across an instructor who so clearly and wonderfully demonstrated these basics in an easy to understand way. I wish I had watched these earlier on. THANKS SO MUCH! ❤

the clove hitch wasn't correct . The end needs to be on the other side of the working end of the line. What you tied works here, but it's not a clove hitch. Otherwise very nice video.
