    The problem for some (including me) is that the plastic on the hook end of the rod disintegrates and falls off. So, it's no longer thick enough to hook/catch and stay on the end of the boomerang shaped piece.

I now have a replacement e-brake sitting on the shelf, but but the temporary fix is holding up. I'm careful to fully press the button, pull the lever, and then release. As long as it catches, it's good. It's not relying on the electrical tape for anything other than holding the rod in place when the brake is not engaged.

      Jesse Pacheco I didn’t have a set measurement. I made them as thick and wide as I could to span as much surface area as was available in those little pockets in the plastic to both thread it to accept a bolt and to spread the tension the tightened bolt would create in hopes that it wouldn’t crack the plastic any more than it already was. A flat washer and a nut would work just as well, this is just material I had laying around my shop so I used it.

    Thanks for the video. I wanted to see those swirl control valves up close. Those butterfly valves are there to change the swirl pattern as the air enters the combustion chamber. When the valves are closed, the swirl is horizontal to the piston top. When the valves are open, the swirl is vertical to the piston top. The swirl patterns are there to promote good air and fuel mixture. The valve that changes the runner length is in the plastic upper intake manifold (air surge tank) and is part of the Acoustic Control Induction System (ACIS). Your video is way cooler than the diagram in the manual. Thank you!

Instead of trying to extract what was left of the screw tip i found a stripped bolt and have moved everything to the new bolt except the extractor. Looking at the new bolt it looks like the spring tension is what is holding it nut I cant see how to release it. Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

    • @curtisreinke3302
      @curtisreinke3302 Před 5 lety

      I figured it out! Hold the extractor from the side with a pair pliers and rotate counterclockwise 90 degrees then pull strait out. I pointed the bolt face into a small plastic container in case the spring and follower came flying out but they were pretty gunked up and had to be worked out. Putting it in the new bolt was a matter of putting the spring and follower in their hole, holding the extractor with the claw side up then using the flat on the side of the extractor to compress the spring while pushing it into the recess and finally rotating it 90 degrees clockwise. If I had to do it again I doubt that it would take 2 minutes.
