My song for Gleneagles' collab with Pop Trading Company to celebrate the launch of their collection. This was a bit different than what I'm used to making, but it sure was fun. Director: Dan Emmerson

Nijntje (Miffy) x Vans x Pop Trading Company

For the collaboration of these three companies (all three close to my heart) I made a song that touches on the jingles and themes from the old Nijntje cartoons from when I was a kid. I started rewatching them for inspiration and came up with this sweet but psychedelic little melody. Dee Dee was such an important character, of American Rock-n-Roll culture, that I can see people hanging out with him for the story. You would have to be a strong person to resist that and an addict doesn’t stand a chance, not against people wanting to party with you. RIP Dee Dee you are loved.
'I just didnt get enough money for that T.V....' 😂
THIS IS so sad, he was a poor guy...
For the holiday...a little special treat...😅
Not much of a documentary, it's just recycling interviews that were filmed for the Johnny Thunders documentary.
Dee Dee was an innovator and one of the best lyricists ever. In his last autobiography, "Legend of a Rock Star: A Memoir: The Last Testament of Dee Dee Ramone," he wrote about how he tortured and took pleasure in killing a stray cat. That is inexcusable.
Thanks for the upload.
39:10 - 40:20 <<-- Legit artist pain. Art from tragedy.
✝️❤️🌈 We love and miss you Dee Dee

Before my time but Dee Dee is a legend. Ramones didnt create Punk Rock, Dee Dee did.
great posture
His whole life was a struggle to not shoot up. Horrifying how afflicted he was. He was such a sweetheart.
Heroin is also a lot of fun. He wrote all his best songs on it. Couldn’t of been all bad
Rest in power Dee Dee the most important figure in rock and roll history and extremely underrated. If there was no Dee dee there would be no Ramones and without Ramones there would be no punk and punk literally chamged not only rock but society. From spikey hair to skinny jeans amd too many examples to name
Like Its all done now..score..good dope these fkin minderasers.types.listen to Unkle Henry.R..etc theyve been there &,will share..#×1.,Dont give drugs a bad name.too.ppl.need ti leave it.
This is so nostalgic to me and takes me back to when i was 14 before I went down the heroin path myself I bought this DVD right when it was released at Virgin records when i was 13 or 14 and was literally obsessed with it and anything ramones. It actually came with a page of Dee dee's tattoos. The kid kind that you wet and press on yourself. I think my older brother borrowed it amd might still even have the tattoos. It also came with a poster of the cover which i put up in my room so thats lost
1:02:31 He straight saying "no face no case" jaja Dee Dee was gangster af
Even tho i would love to hear all the unfiltered uncensored insane stories i still like how careful he was about what he said the whole time. Never said anything that was incriminating even about other people. That's a sign of a real one. Never snitched or detailes any crimes unlike all these rappers on interviews nowadays snitching on themselves amd their gangs
Dee Dee was from THE time in NY. The Wanderer's type shit. The dawn of serious youth crime where murders between kids started happening. The time of Jim Carroll and The Basketball Diaries. People back then were stand-up for real. No social media/podcast/OG reaction video shit. Nobody ever saw nothing.
Rappers today are so weak minded. Trying to pose as OGs. Dee Dee was the real deal
The best moment: 58:56
Definitely the best part 😂 Dee dee kept it real all his life and never changed , sadly including his habit. 😢
. 39:00 .
14:07- to 14:12 is he being sarcastic in saying he wanted the christ crucifixion tat or did he really want it? Dee dees hard to read sometimes
he's not being sarcastic. what even makes you think that?
He wasn't some wannabe satanic shock value kind of person. He was a genuine street person and victim of the NYC streets in the 70's. He was a gangster punk lol and like gangsters he believed in God and always wanted to get out of that lifestyle
By the way i love dee dee and the ramones it was a legit? I just find him hard to read
Such an amazing story... i remember hearing about D right when it broke.... You're only good till ure not... my favorite saying, by me...
this song is so good.
Amazing you must continues ! So promising ! !
lovely tune :)
to me the funniest thing about watching this, doesn't make me wanna cop dope or rant about why others shouldn't. I just wanna slice of pizza so good that the olive oil drips down my arm. Dee Dee is New York personified. met him at an N/A A/A meeting in 92 over a slice. those were the days. Still sad though because on the flip side watching this makes me feel like a priest and I'm just not going there! But I'm here again anyway huh🤯👻✌️and the way you finished the photo collage, let's here it for sober Dee Dee!
5:36
They all should have had alot more cash h or not .
I remember watching Rock n Roll High School late one night on tv when I was 14 and fell in love with the Ramones. I thought Dee Dee was so gorgeous and wished he was my boyfriend. Still have a huge crush on him. Wished I could of met him.
I had the pleasure of meeting Dee Dee & it was a pleasure that i will never forget.
When he hesitated during the stiletto knife story in Paris I knew how the situation was resolved - before Dee Dee admitted returning to the US with a renewed habit. I also think that even though he claimed he wouldn't write an anti-drug song, Chinese Rocks isn't a song glorifying heroin use like Lou Reed's Heroin is. . . LR's songs had me wanting to try heroin when I was an 8th grader! If only I knew then that Chinese Rocks would be a much more accurate depiction of my future... Would I have reconsidered? Maybe... but probably not. RIP Dee Dee, one of many gone too soon!
Extremely relatable. I was the biggest Ramones fan since 10 when i first heard them on Tony hawk pro skater 1, sadly after their break up and couple years before Dee Dee's untimely death. Started using IV heroin at 17 and went thru mostly everything dee dee talks about. I love him and hope he's in a better place
Dee dee looked amazing at the rainbow 1977. Shame what drugs can do and life events. RIP DEE DEE
this is too fucking good
"well we don't sniff glue anymore" "how do you know?" best convo ever
Amazing its history
I Love how he says let me think about what im gonna say. ..I wanted to kill them all! Lmao gotta love him
being genuine not mean. ..I feel deedee possibly had a mental /behavior disorder that was untreated. ..led to his extreme drug use. just my thoughts
take a drink of whiskey every time dee dee says "cop dope"...don't drive afterwards and be prepared to get your stomach pumped.
Rest In Peace dee dee ramone
Dee Dee is the greatest !!!!!!!!!!!
1-2-3-4!!!!!!
Dee Dee is listed as the primary song writer for Chinese Rocks on the original version of the LAMF album along with Thunders, Nolan, and Richard Hell... which would be accurate since Johnny no doubt added his own guitar parts to the song, and I guess Jerry Nolan wanted credit for writing the drum part(?) But, on later reissues of the record I believe Dee Dee is listed as the sole writer of the song.
Dee Dee was such a sweet guy at the core. RIP.
Rest In Peace
Dee Dee was really the only true "punk" in the Ramones. At least as I see it. That's subjective I guess. Just my opinion.
Martin Spud what is punk anyways
Quoting Joey Ramone, "Being a punk is just being yourself".
ah man I'm leaving, I'm gonna cop some dope!
I wish Dee Dee had actually stayed off the heroin, then we may have this gentle soul and great songwriter/storyteller with us still. I lost my best friend to a heroin overdose in my early 20's, and hearing Dee Dee talk about it in this is just all too heartbreakingly familiar. The drug steals your life and never gives it back, and it steals you away from those who love you.
"Chinese cocks" - hell yeah, long live Johnny Thunders for such a great punk tune !
For stealing it? just like he stole his coat lol. Dee dee wrote that song, it even sounds like a classic Ramones tracj
One junkies word vs another junkies words lol… Heartbreakers version is the better of the two, my opinion of course…
that is probably the most boring non-stop rambling I have ever forced myself to listen through til the end, oh man. Go get a life, one wants to say. I guess that is why this guy killed himself, couldn't stand the boredom any longer himself.
somebody's on the phone hey is Dee Dee home wanna take a walk ya wanna go cop ya wanna get some Chinese rock.. .
interesting how drug use results sometimes in a giant creative outburst then.....death!
