    Here in Jerusalem most of the big sellers on Alibaba have an exclusive distributor that offers warranty and service. Just like the big names. There's one cnc machine with 15 tools and a line boring head for 35k

  • @KOTAAOMEE
    @KOTAAOMEE Před 23 dny

    Personally I went for the Biesse entry level, got a jade/skipper when I started, then bought the KFT for nesting a bit later on, and I didn't have to pay crazy amounts on them, reliable brand with good service even tho i'm in europe so it's easier, i'd say if you don't have the money for the big high-end machines, go for the entry level of reliable european brands, Biesse/Homag/SCM/Holz-Her, don't know much about US brands tho. But yeah definitely go for top brands or you'll cry without the service, cause those things break down.

I can't find it anywhere.

    Adequate protection is when it is done in several stages. From the main board with a protector to drain the higher surges and then on the machines for a lower surge level, even up to an additional one dedicated to the machine's computer system downstream of the surge protection on the machine you have installed Even a welding machine within the company can generate a surge that can damage digital equipment on the same line. Saludos Gerardo

    I'm sorry Ty, that sucks bad. Are there options out there for installing surge protection at the main breaker instead of individual machines?

  • @TimothyFrancisco
    @TimothyFrancisco Před měsícem

    This definitely resonates with us. We are in Florida and we get nasty lightning power surges and momentary outages. We park and shut down our CNC lathe when we get these storm cells pass overhead. Definitely no threading if we hear thunder nearby. We have a surge protector for the panel for our entire shop, so far have not had any issues except momentary power interruptions.

    is there a reason you dont run the entire 8' or 10' lengths through the unique, and then cut them to size? Haver you thought of getting a second Shape and Sand for squaring them after they're built?

    I just got a quote from one of the supposed best Chinese CNC companies (Quick CNC), and it came to about $19k. That’s for a brand name Italian HSD spindle, Yaskawa servos, Hiwin rails, Becker vacuum pump too, 12 tool atc, syntec controller, heavy 8mm frame, etc. On paper it’s a pretty top tier spec, and at 18k, that’s like 10% of the cost of a Homag. Is it as good as a Homag? Definitely not. But it is seemingly amazing value? Yeah. The problem I encountered shopping for a Chinese CNC is just the sheer amount of options you have on a site like Alibaba. There’s hundreds of options and most of them are a bad idea to buy. You really need to spend time researching and contacting companies for more info. Quick, OMNI and StyleCNC all seem like pretty good Chinese options
