Mid Century Modern Inspired Home Office Tour
Art and I have been designing our home office for several months now and its finally coming together! We wanted the space to feel open and warm, while having an industrial mid century feel. The touches of polished aluminum throughout the furniture and solid walnut really helped accomplish this. Charles and Ray Eames were a big inspiration while designing this home office and we really centered everything around a few of their aluminum pieces. Hope you enjoy this glimpse of what the office is looking like so far!

Would love to know how did you make the doors. What type of track did you use, they normally have one on top and one on bottom and here I see nothing on the floor. Thank you

Kudos! It is very rare to see women who have any interest in doing metal or wood work. In all of the years that I ran machine shops there was only one woman to apply for a position on the plant floor. I hired her and she turned out to be an excellent worker, just as I'd expected. More women need to be encouraged to pursue work in shop environments.

Hi. olie, I’ve retired and I’m going to treat myself to a small bandsaw and a table saw , we already have a chop saw , and electric jigsaw and hand saws and chisels . I’m hoping to start making toys for my grandson , items for my garden and a few gifts , I used to do woodwork with my brother when I was very little , he turned out some beautiful furniture , and I’ve always loved the qualities and textures of wood . I would also love to do a bit of wood turning too . Yes I’m attending the you tube university as well haha , it’s great to see other people making incredible things . I wish you luck in your woodworking venture . Btw , my brother used to sand down his table tops in 800 too and he would do multiple layers , sanding in between layers , and the final result was like a mirror . Absolutely beautiful . Sadly he’s passed away but if I can learn a bit now I can pass our family talent to my grandson Bobby who has the same name as my late brother. . X
