I cannot get my radio to be recognized as connected in the Ethos suite. The TX say's the USB is connected. I have no clue what I need to do. My TX has Version 1.4.12 installed.

How do you adjust pushing problem. All my planes pith up straight up when I switch mode to safe or As3x mode on my spectrum receiver AR631 or AR637T. Any other idea on how to adjust it?

So I had a TDR18 binded and working fine on one plane after doing the firmware update, then I switched over to another one, did all of the set up taxied the plane to fine tune the steering and next day nothing, blue light flashing as usual but no servo action Tried to register it and bind it again, took me forever and once finally binded still nothing on the servos Expensive servos that never let me down so it’s not 7 servos that all of sudden died but looks like the Rx got some issue. Also after disconnecting the Rx and trying to turn the TX off I get the message “Rx is still on “ That after 30 seconds being disconnected.. Any thoughts?

Hello, I realize this was posted 3 yrs ago, but hoping you may still monitor and/or respond to comments about it. I'm trying to configure a 2M RES sailplane using an NX8 Tx. My plane has a single, centered wing spoiler that is plugged into the Rudder receiver port. I have read, fiddled, read, fiddled, watched videos, etc.. so much my fiddler is sore. The Spektrum "Servo Setup / Travel" screen seems to be beyond my understanding. In watching your video, you demonstrate the example of adjusting travel for the Aileron "stick". You explain how to isolate the 2 display travel numbers in order to have different left/right values. You then proceed to scroll across the other channels and at 3:57 you go past the "gear" channel where only ONE of the numbers is highlighted? Something is different there, but you don't address it. You then proceed to the next setup item which is SubTrim. Sorry for this long comment, but my question is about what you didn't explain. I want to control my spoiler by a 3-position switch, not a stick, as you might with a gear servo. I can't for the life of me figure out the programming there so that I can select the right amount of spoiler up on the 1 & 2 switch settings (0 is all the way down).It's kind of making me crazy - it seems random but I know it can't be. If there's any way you could explain what Spektrum has in mind and how to configure the travel of a 3-position switch, I would be most grateful. Thank you for sharing!

Hello Dave: Thanks for these videos - I learned so much! Not sure if you still answer questions, but I have one... I am a beginner and use SAFE for takeoffs and landings. I discovered that with SAFE on, the throw of the elevator is greatly reduced - so much so that I am having trouble taking off [I am flying on floats]. If I turn SAFE off, the elevator has enough throw. I tried adjusting the priority in Spektrum programmer in the hopes that when I have the elevator at full stick the SAFE on elevator would not be active, but that didn't work. the throw is still reduced. What am i missing? Thanks, Paul

This is bit of an aside question but do you use Spektrum batteries with your FrSky equipment?

Could you mount it in a leveled airframe and then calibrate it? That way if the mounting spot in the aircraft is not level you would not have to add trim. I am currently mounting an AR636 in a foam airframe and the mounting surface is definitely level to the airframe. Unfortunately I don't have any other choice.

As a new owner of a FRSKY 20 RS, it's a LOT different than my Spektrum TX. This video was extremely helpful in the transition.

In the old day the throttle trim was mechanical and you could just go to full up trim to the bottom. Do you know of a way to make the electronic throttle trim move more quickly. Someone said you could make the trim essentially a three position switch. Do you know how or where to look? Thanks

Thanks but for some reason when I transfer the SRM file into my AR636A rx (done exactly the same way as you have demonstrated) it does not import the SMB settings as the flight mode switch makes no deference, nor does the panic button. I have reviewed the settings on the Safe Model Building tool and the settings are definitely there but when I import that file over to the Spectrum Program and load the new file into the rx I only get the settings that I set from the Spektrum Programme and not from the SMB tool. Help would be very appreciated.

Excellent video! I know this is an older post/video, but I think you may be able to help seeing it's related to telemetry and the NX8 transmitter. I'm having a problem using my NX8 transmitter with an Apprentice STS 1.5 and the Spektrum Remote ID. I'm trying to get the Spektrum Remote ID to show the data on the NX8. The Remote ID light is on, I went to telemetry on the NX8 and put in gps, scrowled to the gps screen, but there's no data showing up. What am I missing here? I would appreciate any help and suggestions!

Help please For some reason my ailerons (on a Y lead and selected as such on the Spectrum Programmer) works fine when I move the aileron stick but does not move at all for AS3X or SAFE functions/when I role the plane side to side. The elevator and rudder both work fine and move as they should. My gains and priority are set exactly like yours. The aileron servos even do the dance when the rx is turned on indicating that they are initialising. I cannot understand why the ailerons are not working as they should. Help would be very much apprecited.

Can you not configure safe and AS3X using just the Spektrum Programmer? Not understanding why Spektrum didn't incorporate both the programmer and builder as one.

Do I need a cable to unlock my receiver before doing all of this? Or does it come “enabled” out of the box?

I'd like to learn, for example about all the telemetry concepts, as for example: in FlightLog Frame loss, Holds, , Pitch, rolls, I have pics of screen in Flight Log A: 1180 B: L: R: dBm: -42, F: 1144 2:03; H:1 26:45. This is information in a Fox Glider FMS 3000. Gyroscope Screen Gyro: Roll: 0, Pitch: 0, Yaw .; Max 97. 109, 146/ In other words, a Smart ESC, Motor, Receiver, give us a lot of information. How to read and interpret that information. What is the use for it?

Question: I’m using NX10 and if I activate the “TIMER 2” using “STOPWATCH” and “One Time set to Active” I get an annoying beep every minute even though everything is “INH” in “Timer Event Alerts”. I want the timer to start at 0-throttle and show the total time.

I got the V900 last week and yet to maiden it - the weather here in the UK isn’t great at the moment with high winds and rain. Just wanted to write on here that I too had some of the same problems that you mentioned: 1) The rear bolt on the main wing protrudes out into the inside of the fuselage and can poke the LiPo out of position. It’s already a VERY tight fit inside. To fix this, I didn’t glue the main wing like you did in case it needs replacing in the future. Instead, I put a few small washers on the screw before putting it through the wing and bolting it on. 2) The placement of the Spektrum 4S 2200mah 30C G2 certainly does not fit flat down (label facing up). The Velcro buckle stops this from being a good fit and bulges the fuselage out so the canopy doesn’t sit flush. Ideally placing the battery on the side is better BUT yes you do have to shave the canopy a bit. I did this with an exacto knife and now it sits flush. 3) the motor brake comes OFF as stock. HH-E-Flite will say the ESC is not programmable but they are certainly wrong. You can find the instructions online and do it yourself although it’s not as straight forward as the programming with the Avian ESCs. You have to follow all the series of beeps and tones using your throttle stick to navigate through the options. 4) the instructions manual mentions to set throttle cut at -130%. When doing this it causes an issues with immediate motor action with throttle cut OFF. HH/E-Flite says this is normal but it’s certainly not unless you want your motor and ESC burning out once you’ve landed. I set it to -100% for throttle cut so even with throttle cut ON (and 0% throttle) the motor doesn’t start spinning unless the throttle is increased just as the way it should be. 5) I reinforced the main wing at the leading edge black insulation tape.

Thanks for your videos and instruction. Just a comment from a "literal" guy...vocabulary is critical to understanding. For example, when you say "when we move the aileron "control", is that the aileron stick, receiver port or aileron surfaces? I'm just beginning to study mixing. One video i watched clarified that the left item is the "stick" or switch you're moving. If I hadn't seen that i wouldn't know you're talking about the stick. please this is NOT a criticism - just saying that many helpful youtube content providers presume all of us know more than we actually do (meaning me). So they inadvertently leave out little key points because it's second nature to them. Anyway, thank you again for taking the time to educate us.

Thanks looking 2 purchase this plane. Servo extension clips hadn't come across b4 I like! I will use! 1st plane was a arrows prodigy 2nd max thrust aggressor, which I love both. But I am after a plane that I can actually learn to take off n land.. I've missed that in my learning journey....time to learn a different sort of flying/aspect to the hobby.

Just a note... 1 Ail 1 Flap doesn't necessarily mean 1 servo for each. The image shows 1 servo each, but it really means you are assigning 1 channel for each. E.g. If I have 2 servos for the Ailerons and 2 servos for the Flap... and a Y harness on each of the Ail and Flap then I would choose 1 Ail 1 Flap because they are being controlled by 1 Channel each.

I had few Ar636A rx's left and there was no way to repurpose these without the safe Model Builder.Huge thanks for these awesome series my friend.Spektrum Programmer only takes you so far. Adding the Safe Model builder I can do exactly the same as Forward Programming with the 7 series rx's. For example Switch B I setup 0 Gyro Off 1 AS3x 2 As3x and Safe. Sweet !!!
