Matt The Mind Noodler: "A Wonderful, Wonderful Act"! (says Penn) Fool Us T Shirt Cannon Magic Trick.
Matt Donnelly, The Mind Noodler makes his second attempt to fool his bosses on Penn & Teller Fool Us Season 10 Episode 15 "Dan Quayle Gets Shot By A T Shirt Cannon" where indeed I try to redeem my family's greatest shame by reenacting a historical event that may or may not have happened. (It didn't). He used Penn, Teller and Brooke Burke as volunteers.
Fun Fact: The T Shirt Cannon was made by Ryer Appeldorn. More fun facts about this and many other acts can be found on the Abracababble podcast.
More about Matt: Once named "Las Vegas's Best Up and Coming Comedy Magician" in The Las Vegas Journal Review. Matt began his career in magic working on Fool Us and was in fact dared by Penn Jillette to learn "one magic trick" when Matt was mouthing off about how many full time magicians there were. From the dare, Matt crowd funded a show call Hill Bill The Psychic Hillbilly where Matt learned 7 magic tricks taught to him by 7 magicians. The 7 magicians were, Johnny Thompson, Penn, Teller, Mac King, Brian Brushwood, Eric Dittelman and Piff The Magic Dragon. His show was directed by RJ Owens. Piff saw Matt's first show and invited him to be his opener when he played comedy clubs on tour. Matt toured with Piff for two years. From there, Matt has gone on to fill in for Mac King at his Excalibur Casino show. He has played The Magic Castle, Chicago Magic Lounge, Nashville's House of Cards and many other prestigious magic venues across North America.
Long before he ever thought of dipping his toes into magic, Matt crushed the Las Vegas comedy world. He played the Las Vegas strip alongside Wayne Brady in the smash-hit improv comedy show "Making It Up" at the Venetian, he played Christian Grey in the ridiculously funny "50 Shades the Parody" at Bally's, and he hosted the innovative and hilarious show, "Executive Monkeys" at The Palms. In New York City, Matt taught improv at the People's Improv Theatre and The New York Film Academy. He was a member of the notorious improv team, Neutrino at the Upright Citizen's Brigade Theater.
Matt co hosts three podcasts: a magic podcast called Abracababble, is most know for co hosting Matt and Mattingly's Ice Cream Social (heyscoops), and notably Penn Jillette's podcast, Penn Sunday School.

I have no idea what this guys is talking about, but I agree with him whole heartedly.
Matt I got to play the "Penn" role for this bit at the Cincinnati show this past weekend! You also did the best card stab I've ever seen (and I must have seen at least 3).
thanks so much, pal
That a top class performance
Thank you so much!
I can't get over how hot she is. When did that happen??!!? :P
Well, you fooled me, here you go.
Sweet! I’ll take it
This was very well written!
aw thanks so much. that means a lot
I don't believe I have ever seen a woman blush as much on this show as Morgan did!
This was awesome! So funny and a really cool trick.
thank you so much!
Amaaaaazing maaaaaaan ❤
Thanks so much!
I loved it, they looked so goofy
😂😂😂
So that's the second time this year , that a version of the magic bullet is presented to P&T :)
Matt! What an amazing performance. It was hilarious - like all of Matt Donnelly's shows are. But it was also honestly a brilliant piece of magic. And I have to say, I did *not* see where this was going, despite it being a very common trope of stage magic - the whole "person in box swaps with the magician thing. I actually kind of dislike that classic bit because it's so easy to anticpate - but here I honestly had no idea where this was going. Really wonderful!
oh wow! thanks so much!
Wonderfully silly and a darn good trick 👌
Oh wow, thanks so much!
Good job, Matt! As a regular congregationalist, I was excited to see this clip, and I figured Penn would bust your balls. He didn't disappoint.
he certainly didn’t 😂
They cut out the key reveal with a camera change. But, that was just outstanding. Come to Illinois and Ill see you!
I’m playing the Chicago Magic Lounge March 28 thru the 31 🙌
Thanks! I will try to be there!@@mattydchacer
Now Brook, have you ever made it rain on 3 male performers before, 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
An honest question 😅
"on the edge of your seat" I like that little clue.
Hmm didn’t realize that till i read your comment
Regardless of the trick, getting Penn & Teller that involved was hilarious.
thanks!- that was what I was hoping for
you may ask "but when did he switch the shirts ?" but I don't think this is the point the point is he made all three Penn, Teller and Brooke have a hell of a time and a good laugh for the public
💯 my hope. Thank you!
Just the look on Teller's face at 5:05 alone is worth the price of admission. 😄
Great act
thank you !
Great performance. Just minor thing but I think the head hole (is that the correct word?!) should be a bit wider on the red t shirt so when the blue t shirt is pulled over it you can’t see the red t shirt is still on.
yes. that adjustment was made when I performed it on The Foolers Tour
“Great trick, Matt Donley, I see you everday, you fooled us, but I don’t think you fooled us.” 🤔🤔🤔
Gods that was so fun to watch. I was totally fooled simply from the misdirection of comedy. That put a big grin on my face. Bravo
Hey thanks so much! I really appreciate it
Former vice president
This was hilarious! Not only a fun trick but loaded with laughs. Loved the inside references, too!
Thanks so much
Have you ever made it rain on three male performers before!? Ha! Oh I am sure Penn's mind went somewhere on that laugh!🤣
it was an honest question 😂😅
pretty sure there is more letters and one less to "Penn" ;)
That was funny, but I knew something was up when I didn't see arm holes.
😂😂😂
Good stuff! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
thanks so much!
Wonderful act Matt, awesome combination of comedy and magic!! Absolutely loved it, respect from India :)
Thanks a ton!🙌
"If you don't have a joke, a fact will do!" - Susan B. Anthony
He a got a tshirt instead of a trophy. 🤣🤣🤣 How did he switch the tshirt? One thing for sure. The tshirt he place in the cannon is not tshirt decorated by Penn.
The chair was in on it, and did not show the t-shirt as being Penns before loading it. Also the trash bag was an unwilling participant
I found that act very clever and entertaining. It is a joy enducer. Well done!
Thanks so much!
SALT PORK!!!! Love the Ham Days shoutout!!! 😆🙌🐷
I need help!
Well, I rewatched and.. you fooled me. So here it is.. 🎊 🏆 🎊
yay!! we did it!
That was fun. Did they edit out a little bit when you showed Penn how to trigger it? He seemed to know exactly how to use it. Maybe he was familiarized with it backstage or something? P.S. For anyone else reading this, no I’m absolutely not suggesting the guys were “in on it” or anything like that. I just like getting a feel for how it all works over there. Considering applying to be on the show at some point in the future.
they did
Can't believe you got a T-shirt signed by Penn, or the fact that his signature looks like a peace sign
😅 good one
thanks!
@mattydchacer love the moniker. Great performance. Had everything needed for a successful act.
So ......did he get his trophy??
No
@@magicjim1 I thought for sure he would've.
I stole one
@@mattydchacer I watched your act on Fool Us yesterday on CZcams. You were simply jaw droppingly hysterical!!!!! One of my top 3 acts I've ever seen on there.
I remember the brainstorming session where you came up with this, I'm so glad you got it working, well done!
and it’s improved since then
Salt Pork! Go Matty Go! Loved this so much
I've watched so many times but still haven't figured it out unless he fed her her guesses. Im too busy laughing to keep up
thanks so much
OMG! Matt, you are original and funny! I automatically am interested in watching effects that are not card tricks. Your trick was super good, and you fooled me, that's for sure. I couldn't even imagine what the punch line, so to speak, was going to be. To your credit, I watched AGAIN and STILL couldn't figure out how you did it. What a pleasant surprise! All good wishes.
wow, thanks so much!
hilarious! Such a cumbersome set up- it feels like you were pranking P&T.
😂😂😂😅
Doesn't that Brooke figure ever change her stage clothes? She has had the same outfit since the first show she was on.
Wait til you see what Penn and teller wear 😂
Great work, sherlock
Each episode is cobbled together using magicians who performed on different days. The dress lets the editors do that.
Penn and Teller have not changed theirs this season, either. Hmm....
btw as much as I loved Allison, Brooke has improved so much, she is funny, charming.... that's her job for sure, but she doest it very well
Wonderful….
thank you
@@mattydchacer Absolutely….beautifully designed routine.
I don't even want to say that Brooke is older since she is so pretty.
If only the hand cannon had a FIBRE optic sight(pun intended) for T-shirt launching!
oh that’s funny 😁
Huge fan Matt, have listened to practically every Penn's Sunday School and Ice Cream Social. You are always a delight. Glad you're really making it in the magic scene.
thanks so much!
I haven’t even made it to the trick yet and I’m in stitches. I don’t care if he doesn’t win. I’m here to be entertained.
that’s why I’m here too! thanks!
SO AWESOME! And an honor to be on an episode with you. You're hilarious :)
aw! you killed as well🙌
@mattydchacer that was really cool. I wish the camera would have been on you though more. There were two important moments that I would have liked to have seen but really cool trick. I googled to see if Dan Quayle was shot by a t shirt cannon. Lol. I dont remember that at all. Too funny. Thank you.
I didn’t know I was in the presence of greatness!
This was so fun! Well done.
thanks so much
