Hobonichi 2025 lineup reveal — what I think and what I want!
It's been about 4 days since the lineup was revealed and I KNOW you've been looking it over multiple times a day like I have. As a Hobonichi Stan, I know it can sometimes help inform your decisions to hear another person's perspective on all of the items now available to us-plus it's just fun to geek out over it with someone else! I LOVE TSL OKAY, this isn't a hate video this is a "I'm so disappointed in one of my favorite stationery-adjacent brands" video. It looks like I have to stick to their pouches and regular notebook covers for now, because this zip organizer is not it. If anyone has had a great experience with a TSL zip organizer, I want to know! Maybe it’s just this particular one that has issues.

It's taken me years of playing this song to get to a point where I feel comfortable sharing it. It feels good, not hating my own music-making. All of that extra practice time during Rona has served me well. That, and maybe some divine inspiration.
I am trying to figure out what to get. I am going for two HÖNs this year, because I like the hard cover, an A6 and a5. One weeks, depending on what is available when I wake up, I have a top 3 to choose from. Covers, this is where I can go a little berserk and I am trying to rain myself in. I may go for the plastic wallets for the HÖNS and weeks, they’re not Faux leather. So they will not flake. I am on the line also about the POTRs A5. I think I will just wish list it for my birthday and or Christmas. I am trying to really rain in my FOMO. Maybe I should make a vision board thing on it and see what everything costs before adding all of it to my cart and just hitting buy. This is a Native American and autistic point of view on leather. Just so you know the animal skins, that the animal is dying anyway for the meet, the hooves, etc. As a Native American, I would rather see the skin used, then burned. I give thanks to the animal that once was protected by this skin, when I buy. I would rather have real leather than some plastic fake leather that flakes all over the place, and these microplastics end up in our water and food supplies.

I love your tour of the new Hobonichi 2025 lineup. I’ve seen a lot of videos where they take you through the collection at one of the pop-up exhibits but it’s so helpful hearing your thoughts about whether or not you’d buy it and why. I’m so encouraged to pick up some of the items on my wishlist as well and look forward to following you to see what you end up ordering and how you’ll use them next year! I’m tempted to buy the Hobonichi 5-Year gift set to journal about my son. (I kept an A6 Hobonichi for him between 8-19mo and I loved it.) I’d love to learn more about how it has worked for you and your daughter. Thanks so much for your great video! ❤

@@papelesdeelib😂 Happy to help. I remember seeing or wearing those shirts as a teenager. Always at the beach or over a sunburn in the evenings. That is the only situation that I associate with that fabric. And maybe going to college in the Southeast US close to beaches…😊

Highly recommended. It's so hilariously adorable and it's also an excellent paperweight for stamping etc. I'm also going to put my whole month's fun budget into my HOBO order. As you said, that's what it's for!

yay you posted about the lineup! i had this huge list to begin with, but I ended up with a single Weeks book without a cover and a set of sticky notes and one new fountain pen from jetpens to match. i'm proud of myself for being restrained :)
Honestly that’s a tremendous feat and I aspire😩 I do love that Weeks can easily hold up without a cover. May I ask what sticky notes you bought? I realized recently I need more cute/functional stickies among my desk supplies!!
@@papelesdeelib i think i'm going to go for the Beverly Marumi Sticky Note - Petite! I use sticky notes to put recurring chores on (take out trash, refill meds, etc.) so i don't freak out if i don't get to it one day and I can just restick it on another page for the future!

Yaaass that’s Hiroko Kubota!! I would buy everything Hobonichi releases with them if I could, their art is always so dreamy. Can’t go wrong with either choice, though I love that covers can be used for years to come so that may be something to consider¨̮ And I feel you on liking the Mother cover despite not being familiar with the game, that pixel art is just so beautiful! I haven’t played either but I got the Mother Weeks last year bc I couldn’t pass it up and I have 0 regrets😌

You have a beautiful pen; I'm envious. Although your Decimo doesn't work, the remedy is simple. You can buy an entire nib unit for about $93 US. I have four VPs and I have F, M, and B units, which are swappable among the pens.

If I soent that much on a one, babe, I'd be using it!! (I have spent that on a pen, Pelikan M800 Ocean Swirl) and although it's always in a case, she gets used!! It's a tool for your life!
Such a good point!! I could not stomach paying that much for something and then not using it, but I also couldn’t stomach paying that much and then potentially damaging it, so the Majohn A1 trick was perfect for me. And the original Pilot VP body is on my desk so I can get as much use out of it as safely as I can! I don’t own any Pelikans yet but they look beautiful and I love anything ocean-themed so that pen sounds amazing to me🤩

Thank you! I feel so silly for not mentioning it: the palettes we have are collaborations between Traveler’s Company and Art Toolkit, so I got them from Traveler’s Company. Art Toolkit of course also sells the little pocket palettes (as well as larger AND smaller versions!) on their own websites in plain cases that are either silver or black ¨̮

It was easy to find on Amazon in a few different colors at the time that I bought it, but I just looked again recently and they didn’t seem to be there anymore:( The Stationery Selection is a great and widely-beloved site that tends to have them in stock a little more consistently than other shops though, and they ship for free after $100 ¨̮

I’m so glad it could be helpful for you!! A lot of people say the Stappo is way smaller than they expected it but personally, it has all the space I need. Plus, small bag means small space taken up on my desk😌
