Fall Metamorphosis! Try and try again! The paint does what it wants :)
This fall inspired piece is part of a collaboration for Paint Pour Academy’s Artist spotlight program. The challenge was fall colors of red, orange and yellow. I called this piece Fall Metamorphosis because the paint pretty much decided how it was going to end up. This is a great example of never giving up until you get what you want. I have a really hard time working with these colors, I don’t like to do it because I feel as though they never look the way that I want but I am super glad that I participated in this challenge!

This gorgeous diptych was so fun to make and I really enjoyed making two paintings at once that compliment each other. The colors are vibrant and blend surprisingly well. I don’t know if it’s just the lighting, but all the paints look white as you poured them. Then the final product looks amazing!
They are white. You want to use them against a dark background. Once dried, you'll see the colors. It's really interesting that if you look at the dried canvas from different angles, you'll discover even more details. I've used them before, and it's really neat. However, I do not always use a mixing medium. Sometimes, just water. It will give you a much different look.

All the paints looks white when you pour them?I didn’t see any color at all.

@@yaciab.5868 the paints are white when you initially mix them and then the color appears as they dry. If you watch the video with sound on, I describe exactly what happens with the paints.

Nice job !! And yes, Novi Lim is the Original Creator of this style/technique of painting. I am a HUGE fan of Novi Lim & she created this style years ago. She is an amazing, incredible Artist who has worked very hard to get where she is. I think it's pretty sad that Rinske has never ever given Novi even a shout out, not even once. As a matter of fact, she actually denies that her work is even inspired by Novi Lim, but luckily word is getting out now & hopefully more & more Artists/Creators will continue to share Novis name & she will start & continue to get the credit she so rightly deserves for her beautiful work. We all are, have or can be inspired by others work & that's a great thing, but to KNOWINGLY never give an ounce of Credit & allow others to continue to believe & to even Profit from someone else's work, that is just wrong. We should all be supportive of & cheering each other on. I know I personally have been inspired by several different Artists, & I always, ALWAYS make sure I give them a shout out & thank them for their inspiration & for sharing their work & knowledge with all of us. Sorry for such a long reply, but after enjoying your video & your art work, I was so glad to see that you had given Novi a shout out, I'm sure she would be proud of your artwork & very thankful for the mention. I've been pouring/creating for a little over 5 years & this Style/Technique is one of the most beautiful I have seen over the years. I can do just about any technique out there, but I haven't yet mustered up the courage or confidence to give this a try yet. So, thank you for your inspiration & sharing your video !! I loved watching you create such a beautiful piece. I am a beginner on every level. I do not know the brush you use. Is there somewhere I can go to purchases the brushes and paint from?
Thank you so much for watching! I used two different kind of brushes. One is called a paddle brush and the other is a flat brush. I got them both at Michaels but any craft store or even home improvement store should have them. The paints were from Michaels. I used golden fluid paint but you can use tube acrylics mixed with water or a medium to thin. Hope this helps!

@@korkiemoore-bruno3645 Ceramic floor tiles are great for practicing on if you want to try on a smaller scale, if you make a mistake or want to make any changes, the wet paint wipes right off & if you are unhappy with the results of an already dried painting, or just want to reuse the tile, you can soak them in warm soapy water for about 15-20 mins & the paints come right off. I got into using the tiles when I wanted to practice free hand brush paintings. (I learned that from Designer Gemma77) , she does what is known as "One stroke" paintings, usually they are paintings of flowers & she just uses one brush & repeats the same type of strokes to create some really pretty florals. She is also a long time amazing artist & is so creative but her work is easy for any skill level & she does a lot of art just using every day household items (along with the paints & tiles or canvas) 😊😊😊😊
@JoyfulPouringbyApril Catalyst Wedges are great also & help create different & pretty lines & designs with this technique !!! 😊😊😊. Sorry, I'm a junkie for all things Art. Can you use thinned acrylics instead of liquids that you used?
Yes! So I used mostly Golden fluid acrylics in this but the white paint was regular tube paint mixed with floetrol and water for a thinner consistency. I usually mix my regular paints with 1 part with 2 parts floetrol and water to consistency when doing any kind of pour/fluid art.

Hello from ontario 🇨🇦 Canada. I am an abstract artist and i have been researching different videos before i jump into exploring Acrylic Pouring. Your video is as inspiring as your art is beautiful. I work mainly with alcohol ink where i also use a hair dryer to move my medium around. I think this could be the technique I use to bridge what I know and try an acrylic pour...
