Matthias always gives great interviews. He wears a scarf because that's very European. It's great and bright. Every answer he gives relates exaclty to the question, he is smart, clever and always rises above the rest. I could listen to him all day.

He seems mysterious. Is he bisexual? Sexually ambiguous men are always attractive to me. Keanu Reeves, Ryan Eggold and Alexander Skarsgård has this mystique about them. Alexander seems so unattainable. It makes him more attractive lol ❤️

Ondanks flink wat lacunes is dit inderdaad een beklijvende film. Het camerawerk kan je modern en alternatief noemen, maar ik stoorde me voornamelijk aan de shaky cam-achtige beelden.

Interviewer: hello Matthias, our first video interview, Matthias and vertigo (name of the magazine). Thank you for making time for us. Matthias: my pleasure, is it really the first time we do a video interview? Interviewer: yes. Matthias: alright great. Interviewer: the Danish girl. Tom (director) was just telling me that he met you in a strange way, even before there were considering you for the film. Matthias: how come? Interviewer: you were having a drink with Alicia and he came in. Matthias: that's right. Interviewer: and what was your experience with Tom before the film? Matthias: I remember that Alicia was telling me that she was already part of the danish girl, and that's when Tom entered, while I was having a drink with her. I left, because i knew that they were going to talk about the movie and I didn't want to interfere. Little did I know that, eventually, I was going to be a part of it as well. Interviewer: Tom also said that it took him some time before he dared asking you. Matthias: I think it’s quite bizarre, surreal even that someone would be scared about asking me to be a part of a film. Interviewer: Did you instantly know that you wanted to be a part of it? Matthias: yes. I have no problem whatsoever to play a supporting role. I wanted to tell this story, because I think it’s a story about unconditioned love, about bravery, about devotion, about standing for an idea and being consistent in that idea in a very complex context, both emotionally and historically. I think it’s worth telling that story. Even if I only have a small contribution to that, that’s enough for me. Even if I had just one scene in the film, I would have still taken it. Interviewer: You say that it’s a small part but it is a crucial role. Matthias: No of course he’s very important. But I also love the triangle that forms afterwards. It’s very complex and emotional construction between those three people, but they remain very loyal and understanding towards each other and that is what I think makes it exceptional. Because I can imagine that’s not a very obvious thing that would happen if it would happen in real life. But it did happen for real and that’s why I find it extraordinary and why i wanted to be a part of it. Interviewer: that’s really important about Hane, that he says from the start on to Einer: you have to be who you want to be. Matthias: yes and that’s what I found important. To portray Hans as someone who is very flexible with the situation he doesn’t turn into this heavy subject. He’s also in that world of arts and therefore familiar with eccentricity. From the start on, he doesn’t judge. Because I know Hans enters that story as an outsider, and because of that the people who watch the film, the view of the audience will depend heavily on how Hans deals with those things. Interviewer: speaking of the view of the audience. Did this movie change your view in any way on the subject of transgender people? Matthias: Of course, there are things that I didn’t know before, but globally speaking didn’t movie change anything about my views. I was quite well-informed, because I know some people who went to the same process. So it was not an entirely new subject to me. But there are some things which I didn’t know, but.... Intrerviewer: But it is quite remarkable, Alicia told me this in an interview, that it is a subject which has been going on for 100 years. But it only became a well-known subject a couple of years ago. Matthias: yes, and that’s what’s great about cinema, that you can contribute to that. And yes indeed, some years ago there was a television series about it ‘transparent’ or something like that. Being able to contribute to a process of awareness is always a good thing. It helps people who have always been a minority or... how shall i put it, who have been living in a corner so to speak... The awareness thereabouts and... the prejudices which you can eliminate for a part, or even broaden the perspectives on such topics, that is when I think you’ve had a genuine contribution. What I find clever about Tom, and this has to do with his way of filmmaking, is that he finds a way to reach an wide range of people. Because if you approach this movie in a different way, you can easily constrict it. And then it becomes a cult film for a certain niche, which is not why this film has been made. He wants to broaden it, that’s why this particular style of film. It’s ultra... how shall I put it. It’s very polished, conventional, bit beautifully done. Every shot is a postcard, almost too perfect so to speak. Interviewer: to conclude this interview, a question about the costumes not only in this film, but all of your latest films... (Matthias laughs) It’s the clothes that make the man. Matthias: yes absolutely, absolutely... Interviewer: In this film, it’s quite a big part of Hans. Does that affect your performance? Matthias: yes of course, it determines your body language, your stance, the way you walk. It has an influence on all of those things. And it determines the way you present yourself as a character. It’s ... How shall I put it... almost like Humprey Bogart, very stately very... I’ve also never worn costumes like that, nor have I ever played a character like that. Interviewer: did you like it? Matthias: yes, yes absolutely I enjoy exploring the wonderful world of costumes. It’s always fantastic, fitting your costume. I think that’s great! I mean, only if I like the costume of course (he laughs) Interviewer: Alright thank you for the conversation.

Indeed The Story Doesn't Come to a Kind of Satisfying "Alejandro"-fruition At the End as We Would expect,but After Having Just Rewatched it With a 7 months interval now..The Message After a Second or Third viewing gets me more and more Thinking about All The Satanic Ritualistic "Abusecases/Faithmatters"that are at play in today's Modern Soc.media Where it Seems To get a Revival in Everything Political and/or Entertainment So in this way the film works on a Number of ways psychologically as a Response To certain Fears or beliefs So many can easily put forward nowadays creating masshysteria ..This one to me is more of a Good Police Psych Thriller but yes can let you somewhat down if you're expecting it to end with A nice Bow and All the answers,wich isn't the case in real life as well..The Cinematography and lighting is just Amazingly welldone..!that puts out that very eirie atmosphere throughout the Whole Movie..Glad To see Ameñabar is Back making His Very Own Signature stuff and hoping for more!👍 If also An Alejandro Fan you gotta watch "Agora" his Last Spanish production..but with a remarkable international Cast Rachel Weiss etc ..and Tells a Great tale of truly historic proportions which of course the 'Hollyweird"System Hadn't Approved so was Produced indepently and we all know that this is Amenabar at his best! great interview!👍

No offence, maar dit is echt geen fijne manier van een review te volgen naar mijn mening. De camera zit heel dicht bij uw gezicht, wat een opdringerig gevoel geeft, dat constante bewegen van de achtergrond zorgt voor een soort zeeziekheid en de beeldkwaliteit is echt niet om over naar huis te schrijven =/
