I've never heard of one of these going bad (but possible of course) Was the music on a memory card on onboard on the device?

I am going on a 2 and another 5 hour bus drive to a camp for my church so i would help to have some music along the ride without having to bring a phone or get another one. Thanks :)

It may, If you have a motorized convertable top I would try (if you need to access the rear speakers but cant any other way.) Side note: I really enjoy the motorized convertable top, its great being able to go topless in motion (I can be moving up to 35 mph and have the top go up or down in traffic.)

Allot of things are needed for that - good player, good headphones and a file that high. WMA is a good format for higher ranges imo. Also To really take advantage of that frequency response youll need balanced headphones / earbuds. As far as players the Balanced Astell and Kern - Khan Max is ±0.035dB (Condition : 20Hz~70kHz). I've been testing an Astell and Kern Alpha player this week. Unboxing and review coming in days ahead. As far as the Sony NW-A306 goes its Frequency response: 20-40,000 Hz also formats can effect that - for example MP3: 32-320 kbps (supports VBR)/32, 44.1, 48 kHz, WMA: 32-320 kbps (supports variable bitrate (VBR)/44.1 kHz (STEREO)

It really is and paired with flagship sony earbuds or headphones its magic!

I love the sound of the Sony and it has so many audio sound features / tweaks you can do but that volume limiter is a consideration to "bright".

Its been 9+ months. Flown (round trip) from Fl Keys to NYC, Flown (round trip) From Fl Keys to Anaheim CA. Used as a daily phone, gamed at Pokemon go fest and events and my scratching my fingers on it 24/7 for that cool sound. I think its held up great ... OH and I should mentioned I've dropped the phone a half dozen times including once from a scooter in motion. I think its held up AMAZING! But yes its worn. I'm adding a new one to my amazon cart. LOVE IT!

@@TUXXREVIEWS Thanks for the comment, after that I bought it now. It's a pity that the video review can't be filmed with the same phone, it would be clearer, lol. Also, I'll have to try photography eventually, as I'm only a one-button person. I think this is Sony's last unique slim phone because the VI is the same brick as the others.

Def not "Zero Bass", did you work (or over work) the EQ? Perhaps you have a defective one. Mine sonunds great for a player under $50. You cant compare to a $350 -$1000+ player, thats not apples to apples. Also the headphones may be an issue, are you using good earbuds? Headphones that are too high in ohms (like a $1000+ over the ear) is too much without a headphone amp. With the right earbds (example Sony WF-1000 Amazon link: amzn.to/3V9d5IN ) It can be quite amazing.

Sure its not USB c but I have plenty of higher cost DAPS that use the same connection - Example astell & kern.

​@@TUXXREVIEWS Yeah only old A&Ks have that. No mp3 players from 2024 years lineup have Micro USB as it would be ridiculous to utilize such a flimsy, fragile and obsolete interface when we have USB-C. That's the wrong place to skimp.

I keep mine plugged in when not in use and it never really runs out. Even flying from CA to FL using off and on It never went to zero power.

For data transfer or ?

First make sure it goes to the correct folder. I may make a seperate video on this later. I tried taking out the card and transferring songs that way. Computer showed yes, again in music, says NO SONGS FOUND. I've contacted the company twice, no answer!

I get what your saying about the power. For a wired headphone I would suggest the sony WH-1000XM5 amzn.to/4dR8HHf Its at a all time lowest price right now of $328 (msrp $400). For something less in price I suggest the Surfans IEM amzn.to/4aBWyD5 - Its under $100 - $79 atm. It doesnt go below $79 from what ive seen unless used and used earbuds or IEM are kinda gross lol.

@@TUXXREVIEWS Thanks I'll check out the xm5s, I do like Sony headphones and the ch720n have lasted me years. I'm hoping i don't regret the audio technica as they don't have anc. I got my maths wrong the Japanese version isn't 60+ times the power it's 31x the power of the Western a306, before the gains function is used. I had no idea Surfans made headphones, I don't own any IEMs so I'm definitely gonna have a look at them. Yeah someone has got to be a penny pincher to buy second hand IEMs lol.

I may - I do love A&K the SR35 is an older model but also current price $600-$700ish used vs $350 Sony. Not quite apples to apples I would say A&K for quality and has great sound but Sony for modren top of the line audio filtering sound. A&K may be alittle loulder (no USA Sony limiter)

Ok just for kicks I took a deep dive into the sound and my a&k vs sony and the a&k was a tad sharper and yes louder

From your user name I tak eit you drive a chevy? I love my C7 but with the corvette would read flac files and it doesnt so in car I have to use migher quality mp3s (not flac). DSF is my favorite format.

@@TUXXREVIEWS I hv a Chevy but my daily is a Camry and the iPod froze and rebooted. Needed this players Bluetooth. Haven’t tried a wired connection with the a306 and Toyota.

I typically make "playlists" on the PC by using a tagging program, then make a special tag (example" 2024, car songs etc) This way if you play on PC, DAP, Car you just search by genere czcams.com/video/10D9aCOTc54/video.html We have two C7 corvettes and move flash memory cards between then and this way you can access playlists by searching by genere.

Yegh were the same way but comcast its about the same price for high speed internet package or high speed internet and tv. If it was like half price we could cut the cord. PLUS the xfinity box is great for searching shows across various stream platforms (disney+ netflix etc etc)

Paid MP3s that were on my PC in reg folders. Not stream only files with DRM

I may make a video on this later but I purchsed this soft top to see if I would miss the space and Yes I do. Allot. Theres very little room for more than car cover, some cleaning suplies and such. Now I have to say as much as I loved the targa top being able to remove the top while in motion (up to 35 mph) is life changing. So to me it really boils down to what means more to you "space" or the freedown to have to top (entire top) go down in motion. For me I'm still trying to decide.
