It's bittersweet that we understand so much more of the movie now as adults. When this music came on the movie, Sen was at her lowest point with her friend Haku cursed and probably dying and her parents lined up to be consumed. Yet somehow the most uplifting payoff on that scene was Sen freeing Haku from Yubaba's curse.

That explains why I'm currently bawling like a baby... Spirited Away was my FAVORITE Miyazaki movie growing up ("The Secret World of Arrietty is a close second"), and probably the ONLY anime that I will happily watch on any day. Even as an adult, I still know all the lines by heart, tear up whenever I hear "One Summer's Day," and freak out in childlike glee if I see some mini tribute to the movie in other types of media. When I saw the trailers for the live adaptation stage play showing here in America, I just about lost my mind! While I couldn't go see it in theaters, I'm beyond grateful that it is available to buy or rent on CZcams movies.
