It's one of the long-running group rides in the area with riders from a variety of clubs participating. The alto velo cycling club provides some basic information about a couple of these area rides on their "other group rides" page.

How does the gravel section here compare to Regalado? Other than this one being longer.
They are very different. Paskenta gravel is not as deep as Regalado. It is hilly but there are no significant corners as the Regalado chicane. And yes it is much much longer. The one thing both have in common is that once you are back on asphalt it goes uphill. So you don't get a breather.

great job out there. I think gaps were opening up early on and you were able to get away due to the strong crosswinds. A lot of guys aren’t used to dealing with crosswinds and gaps opened. When you and Bernardo went, we let you go, thinking we would let you cook out there for a while, but then teams started trying to bridge and once all in the break / chase but Tesla were represented, there wasn’t much of a chase from the peloton. The Penvelo guy in our chase group kept surging every time he pulled through creating gaps and messing up the rhythm of our chase. Then we got neutralized by the 35+...made our chase to you guys harder and frustrating. Check out the last 2 videos on my channel, you are in both with a photo bomb in episode 2.

seen this way too often coming down Altamont at speed to Moody on the MVV tuesday rides in the late summer evenings, moderate speed is safer, been thinking about the value of a helmet cam as I ride lots (11k YTD), see too much bad car behavior along with the random wildlife over the decades, the spectrum ride a month back was yet another reminder
