Welcome! I’m a Foamer and this was originally a Nippon Sharyo P865/P2020 train channel before Metro Los Angeles unfortunately retired the P865 from service from May 2017 to September 2018 and they retired the P2020 from January to April 2021. I commonly featured trains such as the P865, P2020, P2000, P2550, and Heavy Rail however most importantly no P3010 on this channel because of their low value! Anyhow, I currently upload a variety of train videos!

The Return Of P2020 164 At The Western Railway Musuem [VLOG] [4K]
Footage was taken on 5/25/2024
==================================
After three long years of hard work and dedication, and after thinking P2020 164 would get destroyed for a year in a half! I was finally able to make the effort to see P2020 164 once more thanks to the Western Railway Musuem preserving P2020 164 In April, 2023 and I’d also like to give a huge thank you to the Western Railway Museum for giving us the best Memorial Day Weekend Ever at the Musuem Showcase! I believe you guys will enjoy this vlog type rail fan video which is different to the type of videos I usually create! :D

Footage was taken on 5/16/2022 I've passed by the LOG41R Paramount Switcher many times throughout the years, probably since 2012 and while I've seen U.P. pass by a few times, I haven't had the opportunity to railfan in Paramount until May 2022. Anyhow, in this video Union Pacific used GP15-1 UPY 606 and SD70M 4708 on the LOG41R Paramount Switcher in Paramount Blvd and Rosecrans Ave!

Footage was taken on 4/2/2022 All of our friends had such a great time at the museum with lots of laughing and memorable moments throughout the day, from locating the crossing on time before P865 144 arrives or Flat Train having a horn show battle with an airhorn against P865 144's 100% Loud E-K5LA Horn, or with curious passangers wondering how a P865 works! Such a high quality day all around!

So many questions like how do you get a chance to operate it? Does the driver control the announcements? Do the LED screens have an option to display what you'd like? Will an MTS trolly be featured like you have been doing with Metro's Light Rail? I like this video very much.
40:02-40:06 Looks like LA Metro Rail P2020 car 164 still has its electronic K5LA horn set to low volume along with its low quacker horn still in place. If only P2020 car 164 could get its original electronic gong bell reinstalled along with its electronic K5LA horn adjusted to full volume, just like LA Metro Rail P865 car 144 in Perris.
That would be great but It looks like it’s gonna take effort to raise the volume on 164 since the volume buttons are hidden behind metal compared to 144 where changing the volume would be possible, also in late 2022 the Southern California Railway Museum lowered the volume on 144 from 100% to 80% and the gong to 50% ish volume but I’m glad I saw 144 when both ends were at 100% volume
I hope LA Metro still has some of its original final destination roll signs/blinds stored from its old P865's and P2020's. LA Metro Rail P2020 car 164 could get its old final destination blinds reinstalled, with the names of "Norwalk" and "Redondo Beach" in place. That would not only restore P2020 164's "classic" look, but would also bring back its glory days when it ran the Green Line (C Line) back in 1995.
1:03:45 why are there so many 60 brts just sitting there??
I guess the Type 0555 CNW Gong needs a new clapper on the B end
Welcome back
Thank you!
The GOAT has returned! I’m glad that you were able to see 164 in service at WRM after three years since we suffered a lot from the retirement, now our childhood has been unlocked. 😊
Car 164 Is Back! MSP Is Back! Skinnier Than Ever But I Am Back For Good Rleon! You’re Right, Our Childhood Is Back Man! 💪😁
Nice!
I still wish I could go back to California
I would love to mess around with the train announcements
So they got an LA metro employee
No, my train driver friend went with me to the Western Railway Musuem to both see P2020 164
@@MetroSheepProductionsMSP cool!
That’s cool they updated the signage inside the. Ar
And I am ex la metro bus operator from the contact in 09!/2010
I love to get to operate one of those cars
Idid know that la metro 164 is that have it and orange empire railroad museum have car la metro car 144 too
Awesome video dude! Glad to see this car running again
Thank you so much Mathew! I agree with your statement, it’s good to see Car 164 running once more 💯💪😁
He did it once again!!!
I wanna reunite with the Nippon Sharyos
I seen this LA Trolley in Vallejo on Mare Island getting renovated back in 2022 at the Alstom facility. Its interesting to see non-Bay Area and Non-Sacramento Light rail trains in Solano County.
I believe you are confusing the Siemens P2000 Models being refurbished in 2022 with Nippon Sharyo P2020 164 being at Division 16 at that time in 2022! Also, true… it’s very interesting that an LA Metro Rail Car Is in Solano County!
@MetroSheepProductionsMSP True I never thought of this either given whenever we talk about Light Rail Trolleys here in Northern California, we tend to look at Muni in San Francisco, SacRT in Sacramento and VTA in San Jose. Or Subways like BART, or commuter rail like Caltrain, Capital Corridor, and ACE trains ( The Norcal Version of Metrolink)
I rode that exact train car so many times growing up I’m glad to see it’s still around
I Did The Same! I’m Also Glad 164 Is Still Around!
I'm glad you enjoyed seeing 164 P2020 and riding it. 👍
Thank You, I appreciate it 😁

That's great! I'm glad you got the lucky opportunity to see 503!
Nice catches dude, glad you were able to see the 503!
Thank you so much for helping me make this video man! I gave you credit in my new description!
No problem!
7:40 we got a bonehead! An awesome video 👍
I agree, I almost missed it since they were driving fast! Thank YOU for your support! :D
@@MetroSheepProductionsMSP No problem!
The horns remind me of what I hear on AMTRAK TRAINS.
Cool
Does anyone happen to know anything about the make, model, and/or manufacturer of the audio systems on these? (not the fact that it's a K5LA audio sample, but rather the audio system - since I know multiple light rail systems use it)
Ah, the good old days of the P2000s before Alstom ruined them :>
Imagine driving this, it would be a dream
Why were some of the metrolinks going slow? Is it because of the station
Off camera a white truck destroyed a cross gate and I called the phone number listed a the crossing to fix it and for most of the video the trains were crossing slowly but it was worth it for this video because I got more chances to hear the loud horns with longer and better quality sequences than I normally would!
Nice 👍👍👍
The high horn sounds like the horns on AMTRAK.
Sick Video!
Thank you man! 😁
This is one reason why I want to move back to LA: to railfan if I get the chance.
Good luck!
Got some good stuff there man, great work!
Thank you so much man! I appreciate it as always! :)
Anytime!
That is a great location to watch some trains!
Yeah, it’s true! Santa Fe Springs is a great location to see some trains with some spare time
love the horn battle at 14:44 , great catches!
I’m glad you enjoyed the horn battle man!
Any idea what kind of horn the light rail uses? This horn: 3:07
Electronic K5LA high pitch version
Has this train model ever been to Pasadena or East LA?
This is amazing!
Nice
Awesome video!
Thank you man! I appreciate it! :)
Nice vid, liked. Your lucky to have filmed it leading, with the horn, and still having the old paint scheme (normally they head back to Mead Yard in reverse… however only after doing the Petroleum switching). Excellent work.
From what I was told, you’re right man, I did get really lucky! :D
Great catch of 660 leading!
Thank you man, I appreciate it! :D
The crossing gate bells sounds like the air alarm-gongs on North Shore Line's ELETROLINERS.
Maybe one day this line could be a major source of transportation.
Great shots and variety!
Thank you, I appreciate your feedback man!
