DC Funk Parade x Elevate featuring Charity, Glo Shines & Pierre
This year's DC Funk Parade celebrated the history of Black Broadway, the Mecca for Black art and business to thrive during the early 1900s all the way through to the 1960s located right along the U Street corridor. Paying homage to a time when being Black and free in expression was at an all time high in the city and highlighting our current artistic stance.
What better way to do this than with some Spoken Word from 3 poets/emcees who completely understand the assignment. Glo Shines, Charity, and Pierre delivered in a manner reminiscent of those who have came before us and shining a light on our bright future as artists.
