@@fusakom I'm in Japan with my mom. We've been enjoying our trip very much, as well as seeing our relatives. ☺ Yes, it's quite hot and humid here. My mom and I were in Kyoto for the past few days, and it was especially hot/humid there. But we still had a wonderful time seeing the many beautiful temples/shrines. We especially enjoyed 詩仙堂。Maybe you've visited there before? My mom and I have visited Kyoto a number of times over the years, and I think 詩仙堂 is my new favorite temple. It's not as well known, but I don't know if I've ever visited a more beautiful/peaceful place on earth. ❤ I hope you'll get to visit Japan soon! 😊

last time i was in Japan is 11 yrs. ago. since my parents, my sister & brother passed away many yrs. back, and only my nieces & a nephew are there, i don't feel comfortable enough to visit them, (i'm a US Citizen now.) besides the loooong flight... i think i have visited 詩仙堂 with my sister & her husband. although there're so many beautiful places with gorgeous gardens in Kyoto i do remember its serene & beautifully trimmed garden with Autumn colors when we visited. lucky you & Mom! hope you absorb those beauty (not heat!) thoroughly in your heart to reflect upon the violin playing. pls. stay well and enjoy the places you visit! (no need to reply. concentrate on your trip!)

The two pieces do sound very similar! Wikipedia claims that the Paradis Sicilienne is based on the Weber Larghetto. I thought Dushkin was the arranger of the Paradis Sicilienne, but I wasn't aware that he may have been the composer. Interesting! Whoever composed it knew how to write a gorgeous piece:)
