Interesting you noticed. There's definitely a difference in comprehension & perspective from prospects/fans and reporters VS athletes & other professionals in the sport. Which I find interesting that fans try to tell the professionals what is and what it isn't and discredit them, although they do it for a living.

well the professionals overwhelmingly said Hill would win while fan polls overwhelmingly picked Alex. Oh and for the record Hill threw the first punch . I don't think you take into account how many of us fought in MMA tournaments ourselves in different disciplines. Excuses are always made by losers.

That's easy to say, but this happened in a matter of milliseconds. There was not an official reset by the referee for the fight to presume that's why he didn't move immediately. There is a proper protocol That referees have to abide by when they call a stop on the clock. Herb Dean did not do that. You can even see that the timekeeper did not restart the fight on time. This is why it's so important for the referee to give open instructions because the officials are watching the referee, and the referee is watching the fighters. And the fighters obey the referee at all times. Everybody has to be on the same page at the same time. Go back and watch the fight slow. You will notice that the time on the clock does not officially stop or start on herbs commands. That was due to confusion of Herbs instruction.

Because that's not part of the legal rules. That's just sportsmanship. Fighters don't even have to touch gloves. And they also don't dictate when to do an official reset. All they are supposed to do is follow the refs orders at all times and protect themselves at all times. Proper protocol for a stoppage is for the referee to separate fighters, make sure they are both looking at you, then signal for the time keeper to see when to start the fight again. That's also why the time keeper didn't stop and start the fight exactly on time either.

Also, there is a rule that states fighters cannot advance on their opponent during a break, it's considered "flagrant disregard for referees orders" and can result in point deduction or disqualification. I know it's a cool moment for Alex to move the ref out of the way, but in the unified rules of MMA, it's not allowed.

@@leviking564 I'm talking about rules and regulation. It has nothing to do with Hill. Has to do with proper protocol and rules that apply to ALL officials and fighters in the sport. I read and studied the rule book years ago, I've joined the meeting with the officials, I'm not a fan of fighters. I'm on the side of the rules that regulate the sport. Idgaf about who is my favorite fighter.
