I far prefer the Gamecube Version. It was 2006 Christmas when i picked up Animal crossing for DS, at first i had no idea how to play it and gave up on the game, then one day i sat down and fully gave it my young attention span, and from then on i fell in love with this game and its mechanics. later that year around September i remember reading there was Halloween in the game and as a kid i used to time travel so i travelled forward to Halloween and nothing, i was so disappointed. I then found out there was another Animal crossing game on the Gamecube which i owned at the time but this version of the game had Halloween, Christmas all these amazing real world Holidays, a light house, a Island, Campers, Igloos a large two story town! a train ect, all these things seemed so crazy to me as a child, i spent the next couple of months watching videos on the game jvgsjeff was a personal favourite. Then Christmas on 2007 arrived the only thing on my list that year was animal crossing for Gamecube, and i ended up getting that game and a wii that year, so i was very excited! and playing that game Christmas day was amazing, Wow this game has four house! not just one, and wow NES games! Omg my neighbour is in an igloo and i can play games with them. For the next couple of years i played the Gamecube game and never touched wild world again as wild world felt like such as downgrade, until City folk came out then i played that, but even now i still return to the Gamecube game, it has the most nostalgia for me despite wild world being my first animal crossing game in the series, it just has its own personality and style that still holds up today and that is music is amazing, i have tried to revisit wild world but it feels horrible dated these days, due to the controls, graphics, horrible frame rate. So while some Gamecube players probably moved from GC to Wild world, i moved from wild world to GC and as far as i was concerned the game was better in so many ways, and has so many more features compared to wild world. Also it has a ghost called whisp that blew my mind as a kid.

Holy does this bring back memories this was the version i built too One of the EARLIEST memories i have with minecraft WAS going down into a mine to strip mine Somehow getting lost in the maze that I MADE. somehow breaking all my stone pickaxes and having to Punch my way out of the ground. which took like WAAYY too long.
