In today’s video I run around to a few dealerships in the south Florida area to include Ford, Chevy, and Toyota and check out some of the pick up trucks flooding dealer lots. Drastic price increases are ravaging the pick up truck market vastly limiting consumer purchasing power for new trucks.

@@guilleushuaia definitely a crazy location!
I just paid $57,900 out the door for a 2024 Toyota 4Runner Limited. It was the only one on the lot, arrived that day. Two other dealers, an hour north, an hour south… had zero in stock, sales pending on the in-transits, and others listed were in build phase. So… supply vs demand… I could only negotiate $1200 of the msrp. Anyways… I got the last of gen 5 and it should hold value.
@@YouCanCallMeDon That’s awesome, anytime you can negotiate under MSRP in this environment is a good time!
2.4 liter 4 cylinder?
@@YouCanCallMeDon that is correct
The bigger issue is going to be depreciation, this has the failed engine right? Nobody will buy these used if that is the case, my friend has a Tundra and cant trade it in for something different, no dealer will take it...
@@jamestreanor182 I completely agree with this. You have to figure a hybrid battery last around 6 to 7 years, and can cost anywhere from 8 to $10,000. How does that factor into the overall depreciation?
no room in the back seats, wth?
@@cheesun124 I disagree, in my opinion, there’s plenty of space
@@roughpatchroad leg space? Doesn’t look like it
Gas? lol...
@@ezmn9663 ?
@@roughpatchroad I can't imagine buying a gas vehicle now and certainly not 2025 and beyond. Pumping gas. Oil changes. Loud. Slow. Barely any torque...
CZcamsrs has to stop promoting. Toyota trucks giving all the hype. Stop buying over priced vehicle. At some point the dealers has to reduce the price .
@@02AJO you speak to a valid point, boast about the new technology and updated performance, but at what cost 70+ thousand dollars for midsize SUV is insane!
@@roughpatchroad I have seen CZcamsrs talking about why to buy 4Runner sr5 rather than trd or trd off road etc is a better deal with the caption “don’t buy 4Runner trd instead buy SR5”. And they empathise how sr5 is a great deal while buying 4Runner rather than spending money on trd pro or off road. Now the prices for SR5 shoots up in the used market. What a shame. So these reviews have very influence over potential buyers and sellers . The most problematic one is when some CZcamsr puts a video “why 5th gen this is the last 4Runner to buy” or “buy the 5th gen 4Runner before it’s too late”. And in the video they talk about all the glorious reliability factors of the v6 engine, how old school is badass, all those nonsense. Some of the points are true I agree. But comeon it’s a 12-13 year old design with very minimal modern amenities still selling at 50k (price range where you can get a modern suv). With not even wireless CarPlay. Heavy body roll, less gas mileage, and only for the dinosaur engine you are paying 50grand. And when videos like this comes up and potential suv buyers go crazy at showrooms now the dealers markup really happens. This happens with most of the popular Toyota cars. I hear someone paid almost 20k markup on prebook Land Cruiser.
@@02AJO I completely agree with your analysis. I think Toyota will face the crisis of oversupply and lack of demand which will inevitably drive prices down.
I would never buy one with cloth seats!! Luxury feeling like a hooters barstool..
@@swedeshooter7540 hahahahah 🤣
Local dealer where I'm at added a $20,000 "market adjustment" to the first edition model they had in the showroom. $97,000.
@@gregorygraham7131 that is absolutely insane. Are units being sold?
@@roughpatchroad I don't know, I haven't been back over there. Someone with deep pockets may pay that but not me. I'm on a wait list for a GX550 overtrail for MSRP at my Lexus dealer. It may be a few months before I see it. 😐
@@gregorygraham7131 yes, with so much additional dealer markup you’re better off purchasing something like the Lexus GX 550 with all the creature comforts for the same price if not cheaper
8:34 thank Biden is all I have to say.
TOYOTA prices will have to come down before I purchase another. My wife, daughter and I all three have Toyotas. I was prepared to purchase the 2024 Tacoma or Land Cruiser but there's just no way with the prices where they are. I've got 135k miles on my 2019 Tacoma... guess I'm going to see how long it can last.
@@pedalfaster2033 i’m in the same boat exactly! But it’s only a matter of time, most all Toyota SUV and pick up truck consumers priced out of the market over the last 2/3 years
sorry to say but Toyota can shove it up their you know what thats why nissan is beating them on sales right now
well nothing is cheap worldwide, Global inflation . People can't eat ,

The new CEO is running Toyota into the ground. He obviously does not care considering he is not a descendant of Mr. Toyoda himself!
@@jamesfreeman7954 That’s a great perspective.
Why do you love the elevated platform? It's like that because of the batteries.
@@husshardan3511 I like the easy access of the elevated platform. However, it does makes to why there’s no 3rd Row.
I’m glad I’m not the only one who said WTF to that 😂 It’s not a feature, it’s a compromise to store the batteries. Easy access? 😂 Sure it’s a little easier to grab things out of the vehicle, but at the same time it’s more difficult to load things into the vehicle.
“Love the elevated platform” say what? You like less storage…. Toyota could’ve make it half the size storage and surely you’ll said I like the storage size 😅
@@jerminemhyne4620 I mean, if you ever use the back of of your SUV or truck as a workstation, it’s nicer to have an elevated platform so you’re not bending over. But in might opinion, it feels extremely spacious, definitely enough room for a third row seating.
Picked up a LC trim for $64k. Autonation Winter Park, FL has 1958s for $58k
@@derekramos519 That’s awesome, no additional markup
I owned one for a week. It was a terrible experience.
Can you elaborate more on why it was a terrible experience for you? Thanks
I don’t have the time to share all the details. But here are a couple of quick facts - terrible MPG, it watches your eyes, the dash cam is huge and blocks vision, power is low considering the MPG, it was designed to have a third row so the false floor in the back makes no sense, same for the random cup holders in the very back, it self steers while in cruise but makes you hold the wheel…. I could keep going.
@@jsa310 oh wow that’s surprising, I thought with that 430 ft lbs of torque it might’ve felt zipper
Not to me. Especially when I own 3.0 Duramax powered trucks that are quicker and get +30 mpg on the highway. The Land Cruiser got 19 mpg on the highway and 16 mpg around town. Pathetic. This new drivetrain is a lie, complete propaganda for the fan boys to eat up.
Some dealers are selling at MSRP. Just look around...
@@bernardoomar I agree, it’s only a matter of time before the majority of them are selling for MSRP and offering further incentives.
In Oregon here and a number of dealers here have just dropped ADM and are selling MSRP

Thank you for those images. Very interesting has we do not have those in europe for now. The extra money is the price of a Japenese made product with great reliability and usually the best customer support on the planet. For me well worth the extra money.
@@user-vc5qc5lc8u there’s no doubt the Japanese know how to make a reliable product. But I’ll give it a little time before I enter the market for a new Toyota SUV or truck.

10k in markup for the Land Cruiser is crazy. For $56,000 it’s a pretty solid truck considering the hybrid power system. But you’re looking at $75,000 out the door with that dealer markup.😂
