The old pre-combustion models sounded much better than the later direct injection type,as on the MF35 versus 135.

One of the best engines, ever. Easy on fuel and with proper maintenance will go on for a LONG time.

The only thing that seems a bit hit and miss to me is lining the E line on the fuel pump with the edge of the circlip? It assumes that the circlip was installed correctly with it's ends finishing in an exactly marked position and that it has not moved from that position? Otherwise it's a clear and well explained video.

Have a coolant leak from the water pump area on my Perkins 1006. Any advise on what normally fails? Gasket or pump itself?

I have a mid 70's International backhoe with that very problem. The teeth are nearly gone. Thank you for making it look easy $130 ring gear is better than a $1500 flywheel! Now, to figure out how to get the darn thing out?! ;-)

I can bleed the injection pump on my MF 231 tractor and it’ll start without having to bleed the injectors and without using starting fluid. The engine is a Perkins AD3.152.

Hello. well done. I have an AD3.152 engine. But there is no angle on the flywheel. there are holes.There are 3 small holes behind the big hole.What do these holes mean? The flywheel has an "I" mark when the pump is at the E mark.pump mark is above the timing box mark.5th gear is installed instead of 3rd gear.It was like this when I got it. How can I set the pump to its standard setting?

Never have i seen a video of how one should start a Perkins diesel. Ie how you pre heat , putting the lift down etc.

Nice job, I have the same engine in my 1957 MF35. Not to nit pick, but you describe using the term "throttle" I believe that term is for gas engines where the air intake is throttled to control engine speed. In this case you are "giving it a bit more fuel" by increasing the stroke on the injector pump. Other than that, nice job
