I was 19 in 63, I'm 80 now, bought this record, the Sixties was the decade for everything. Radio Caroline, Concorde, man on the moon, Jim Clark was world champion, . What a time to be young.!

What trips me out about this is that I've never heard any other example of her approaching the song in this way. If there's any other performance like this one, I haven't come across it. The idea that she came up with this on the spot, or for that matter had it worked out but never otherwise played it in public just deepens the mystery of this hypnotic piece

really makes me sad that this isn't a common sight anymore. in the 90s this kind of music could be heard on radio stations in every city. the music filled the night air as jazz clubs sold out and filled to capacity. you heard it in commercials on tv. tv shows frequently retained their own jazz bands. this music was appreciated by everyone from the working class to the rich. now this genre is barely appreciated by anyone anymore. the kids listen to terrible pop music and have no respect, and the radio stations dont even play it anymore as it doesn't get enough listeners. all you hear is recycled trap beats, auto tune and other assorted nonsense. only a relatively small handful of true musicians remain, and only a small minority of the youth listen to it, let alone perform

I used to work with a lad who was severely autistic. He had a DVD of the beautiful south videos. Within weeks of working with him I knew the words to all the songs. I left the job 7 years ago but For the past weeks the songs have been popping into my head.

The wives and the sons and the daughters . . . Just wow.

We have bought the Blu ray collection, it’s great, it is the British shows with original sound track. Darren was trying to get the reboot going a few years ago, we donated money to get it going and received a script for the new episode. It is cool, even if the episode wasn’t made………… Hope it get rebooted for even one episode……
