Ghost Train's electricals were 100% functional even when it was in flames. If it were an electrical fire, the carts would've stopped transversing the track (they continued to move even when the ride was in flames), and some photos that a tourist took of the ride in flames showed its lighting package still functioning. In addition, its fusebox was the only part of it that was still standing, and it still functioned perfectly. In addition, no one on the ride was smoking; in fact, the ride had "no smoking" plastered all over it, and former riders stated that no one was smoking on the ride that night.

I saw the documentary. The 4 teenage boys seemed lovely, like the type of son I want. Poor people (and Ghost Train). They were let down by understaffing, low water pressure, and rotten thugs.

There was accidents there every week I was only young but still remember when I was there in the late 80s people were getting stuck upside down etc most likely it was a ohns thing back in them days was not safe

I don't think so you got to remember back in them days nobody gave a shit about safety it could of been a cigarette thrown inside the ghost train people were smoking on buses trains etc not saying it was but anything is possible back in those days

@@cryptolord9826 A cigarette would not likely set something alight in there & it would take a few minutes for the fire to get going. The fire started in a fake fireplace & riders who when past it, just before the inferno, realised, the's a real fire in there. Several people also smelt burning kerosene.

Nimblee Melbourne has the more iconic rides, it’s been around longer, better roller coaster, better ghosts train. Sydney is just kiddy rides

Nimblee would of been great if they did kept the giggle palace, at least we still have the worlds longest running roller coaster

@@themasonexperience6844 It took a disaster to come to that and much big end of town pressure to build skyscrapers there so it's hardly a fair comparison. I'd like for them bring back the Ghost Train style of facade at least even if for what would now a series of AR rides. I love the art involved in animatronic dioramas and the real size version of that would be a nod to rides of the past. I don't know why River Caves went, well, apart from sinister realities. I've never been to the Melbourne Park, but I see them as aspects of each other sharing the same history, hardly a competition as might be the case on the Gold Coast. I've just spent the morning trying to research if they managed to buy back any of the items they auctioned off. It deserves more investment, including some great big structures blocking the harbour, park and bridge noises for the constantly complaining residents. No sympathy for them at all. Not exactly kiddy rides, but I'll grant you that the balance feels incomplete, or like they've lost something.

Nobody knows what really happened iff it was an arson, or the bull mask guy, or the bikers supposedly hired by Abe saffron to light it, but really it’s hard to figure out what really happens could’ve been faulty wiring some people think somebody might’ve dropped a cigarette but some cases say some riders smelt Kerosene? And some even said they heard a noise of a match flicking but really it could’ve been anything but like I said before most cases have said that Abe saffron and these so called biker men that he hired to light the place up. But it is clear to say the most likely case was Abe saffron and his people. quite a few investigators have said it to be an arson so that mainly sums it up so what all of that in order would be it was an arson planned by Abe saffron and his biker guys so there it is 👍 thanks for reading all this iff you got to here.

nope I dont think so, probably deliberately lit as part of an extortion attempt to gain control of the park, and covered up. NSW Police were pretty corrupt in those days, and luna park was big dollars.

Nimblee The current tower isn’t the original. The old one was destroyed around 1980 when Harbourside Amusements who owned it at the time were having auctions to sell off everything except for The Face, Coney Island, and Crystal Palace. The rides that were put around the 1970’s like the Astrospin were sold off to other parks like Magic Kingdom, an former amusement park in Sydney that closed around 1994. The Big Dipper, Ghost Train, and the River Caves were partially destroyed by the Ghost Train Fire were destroyed. And an fee other stuff like Topsy Turvey, Davey Jones Locker, and The Roter were demolished as well to build the 1980’s version of Luna Park. You can find more about the 1980’s version of Luna Park Sydney online, it was basically Luna Park during Puberty, all moody, everything changing, and it’s, well, you can find out for yourself. Anyways, when Luna Park Sydney reopened by an different company in 1995. They got an coaster also called the Big Dipper, you can find videos about it as well. They also rebuilt the Big Dipper Station, The Roter, and the Wild Mouse. The park closed down again in 1995, only 16 months after the park reopened. This was due to adverse weather conditions, competition from Wonderland, and the main reason, The Big Dipper. This was because the park was built too close to apartments that were owned by mostly the rich. These were mostly built during the time Luna Park Sydney was closed. As they thought they would turn the park into more apartments.They complained so much about the noise, views of the Harbour, and the lights. They sued Luna Park Sydney in an class action lawsuit, and won. Reducing the operation hours was just the least of their problems. So the park sat abandoned until 2002, until the park sold Big Dipper to Dreamworld in the Gold Coast and renamed it to Cyclone. It’s now known as HotWheels Sidewinder, it’s one of the most thrilling and most uncomfortable rides at the park as of September 2020. When Luna Park Sydney reopened in 2004, they moved Tumble Bug from the front of the park to where the Big Dipper was. They also moved several rides around. Tumble Bug may not last too long as there are rumours that the ride will close down and be replaced by something else. The ride is standing but not operating. There are proposals from several people to build an 3rd Big Dipper where the Tumble Bug is, most say an custom Eurofighter Coaster is best (which is an small, compact coaster, common where theirs limited space). It’s unlikely that it’ll be built as it’s just repeating history.

it was because of whinging prick residents. The Big Dipper was there well before the residents were. luna park isn't worth visiting any more. All the good rides are gone - the Big Dipper, river caves and they should have built a newer, safer ghost train.

No it wasn't it was cheap and nasty and they ran the park into the ground. It was a really dark time for the park

@@yyosh4762 I'm talking about the old wooden roller coaster. It had been there since 1920 or earlier. They got rid of the roller coaster because of whining residents. Luna park should have been relocated in it's entirety to one of the harbour islands years ago

@@luke-ov9hj The wooden one was built in 1930 and was relocated to Sydney in 1935, which is when Luna Park opened. It was demolished in 1981 and the second big dipper, made by arrow in 1994, opened in 1995. That is the one which the residents complained about. I have no idea what you mean about being relocated to the harbour islands.
