Just added a new to me Solo Canoe to the fleet and because of the extraordinary warm winter I was able to take her for a maiden voyage on the last week of December in Northern Wisconsin. This is a quick video of that paddle on the Apple River.

You are right about the "Leave No Trace". I wish more people would talk more about that in their videos. Every time I go, I find abuse to the Leave No Trace.
Nice video sir. I was up in the BWCA the same time doing a solo trip. I actually entered at EP37 Kawishiwi Lake on Tue 18th. The day of storm. I made it to Malberg as the wind and down pour happened. Had to set up camp in that mess. I did move up almost to Lil Sag on Wed. It was a chore, but on smaller lakes was doable. You guys had much better fishing than I did.I also had to carry out a bunch of trash and fix a lot of fire pits that trip. Thanks for the video.

I think kayak paddles would be faster for leisurely paddling. But I have been watching outrigger racing canoeists and think if I could get a fast paced stroke with a quick switch (no J stroke), it may be as fast as using a kayak paddle. PS: I envy you finding such a great buy!
Great video, I really liked it. I've only been in a canoe once and I really enjoyed it, hope to buy my own canoe one day and do what you're doing.

I wanted to ask you have you ever experienced anything weird on The boundary Waters I swore about 3:00 in the morning something was throwing big rocks in the water. I've heard Beaver slap their tail my whole life on a trapper it wasn't that it definitely sounded like big rocks
Make sure you spend the money and buy the carbon filter for your water cleaner it helps tremendously
Great video man just came off basswood last week on a 5-day stay. We spank the bass walleyes and Pike. It's truly God's country up there I am from Missouri and never seen nothing like that. I will definitely be going back

Glad to see your still enjoying life I was in the boundary waters in the 80s and always yearned to get back to one of my all time favorite places Planning a trip back this fall and I am now 61 years old and having been dreaming a return for a long while I still can Keep paddling and thanks for sharing your wonderful experience!
Man, must be nice! Can't go jack squat anywhere around here without 20 other people around and mostly jerk-offs who just want to be out where they can drink and party and ruin everyone elses outdoor experience.
