There is a trick for some ELDs: if you have a switch for your speed sensor, you can mock it so that your ELD doesn’t ever detect the vehicle speed beyond the 5mph limit. This means drive time has to be manually started, which could be a downside, but the upside is that it’s editable.

I have replaced that valve on my Kenworth only to have the new one leak also in a very short amount of time. The remedy I found was to remove the molded in Push-To-Connect fitting (not an easy, but necessary task) from the plastic housing. Then thread the plastic housing with a pipe tap (1/8 or 1/4 , whichever it may take). Then install a mechanical fitting. Pipe thread x compression.

@Kurt Sibila I'm an otr truck driver and met a driver that bought a Model 9 a few days ago... we talked and now I would like to do this with my truck. Q. Do I need a tow truck license, and to be registered as a tow vehicle with the DOT? This guy said he's also a register truck driver and told by the local license office he does not need a tow truck/vehicle license or tow insurance. This sounds sketchy... what do you know about the licensing and registration requirements? tnx joe

It would still show up your last location if you go to dot inspection mode form. Also your current location would say “unknown”. Look at the engine shutdown and engine turned on location, it will not match
