In California, if you state someone’s name in your will saying that you leave them nothing, that person will receive your full will document and knowledge of all of your assets. This brought on some big issues when my grandma specifically mentioned in her will that she didn’t want these two people to get anything. Those two people made it their life goal to destroy everyone else’s lives. If the people you want to leave out of your will are insane, be careful with how you word it so that it doesn’t make them more mad and cause decades of fearful living.

The way things are today, I seriously doubt that this is something most people will experience.

Cant do that in Germany. You cant disinherit your kids or spouse. (Except for if they murder you or other very very serious reasons) Regular split is 50% to spouse, rest to kids, split equally. You have to give everyone at least half of the normal split. So if you have 2 kids, they split 50% equally, thats 25%, half of that is 12.5%, so you have to leave each of your kids at least 12.5%

Asshole left me a dollar. I meticulously cleaned out my paper shredder, put that money order in it. Put that shit back in an envelope and mailed it to his house. Addressed to his estate, of course. No. I don’t have a substance abuse, criminal record or even a single parking ticket in the last 20+ years. He was just a venomous asshole. I didn’t want his stuff. Or his money. I figured it was going to his nieces. No big deal. Absenteeism was a long standing problem. But a dollar was just icing on the asshole cake.
