Fun fact about the 1897 Winchester shotgun it didn't have a fire disconnect so all you had to do basically was hold down the trigger and rack the shells into the chamber and they would immediately go off this is why they were so effective in world war I . And the Germans try to make it a war crime to carry them and even threatened that if any US personnel were caught carrying them they would be immediately executed to which the US replied "IF".

the gun turned out great! using cerakote rather than hot bluing is an interesting way to restore the gun. and cerakote allows for several finishes from blue to gray. looks great!
