Hurricane Michael. 17 months after. While spending the 2020 winter in Panama City Beach Florida we decided to retrace our 2019 steps through Panama City Beach, Panama City, and Mexico Beach. I posted a video 4 months after the hurricane and we're hoping things are progressing. These are beautiful areas that should be rebuilt. The community is strong down here.

Quick trip to Key west. airbnb on Cudjoe Key and stayed at Venture Out Resort. Also visited Key deer national refuge. The Key Deer were so cute and friendly.

We had some BAD renters. 3 weeks later the results of the rehab were awesome! New kitchen, new flooring, exterior door replacement, light fixtures, and complete painting were just a few of the things we did.

Helpful painting tip. Cut in your accent wall like a Professional. Follow my simple instructions and you will end up with a flawless line between the color wall and the other walls.

Floating shelves. In today's video I take beginners through the process of building floating shelves. They are not that difficult to build but certainly add a unique dimension to any room. Our new house is finished. Now it's time for a tour. After 6 long months of building we are officially moved in. There are still lots of projects to do ( porch posts, more landscaping, my office, fitness room, etc...). We enjoy the little projects because that is what makes it you own. In this video I take you on a tour of the whole house and point out some of the features and materials we chose.

Simple custom range hood for beginners. In an earlier video I went over building the range hood frame. In today's video I finish it up by putting the boards around the outside. We went with a 7" MDF plank and a nice piece of birch for the skirt and top. During the blow in insulation process we had a problem. The insulation crew filled up the feature wall bump out cavity. The electric fireplace became encapsulated in the insulation which isn't good. I had to remove the fireplace, clean it up, remove the insulation from the bump out cavity, then reinstall the fireplace. All is good now. I also take you through another update. Subway tile bathroom shower. In this video we are working on the guest bath shower. We decided to use subway tile in the shower and it turned out great!. If you are a beginner check out the video for a couple helpful tips on tiling.

Another house build update. In today's video I take you on another walk through of the house so you can see the progress. Things are coming together nicely. Another six weeks or so we will be in. kitchen, range hood, planked feature wall, mechanical room, and tile bath, are some of the areas I cover

Continuing to make progress on the new house. In this video I just update you with where we are currently. Garage door, trim painting, shower tile backer, well, electrical hook-up, and fish room are just of a few things I cover.

It's finally time to close in the walls with drywall. Things have been progressing nicely. Once the drywall in installed the rooms will be more defined. Can't wait! The drywall board hangers were in and out in a few days. The finishing guys took another week and spent extra time on the walls where the sunlight is reflected. One little issue with some of the corners as I explain in the video.

I have some basic tips for preparing a shower for tile. Following these tips should prevent you from ever having moisture or water get behind the walls. I am not an expert but do have some pointers that may help the occasional tiler complete a job successfully. We planked the ceiling in the covered patio. Before we started we decided to add some screen to the rafters in hopes of keeping bees out of the gap between planks. It wen up pretty good and we were pleased with the outcome. Working over head can be a bit of a challenge.
