I haven't watched Berserk other than the 1997 adaptation. I watched a little manga. To justify this adaptation, I can only write that in the manga, each frame is a separate work of art. It seems to me that this is difficult to repeat. Gatz's armor alone is worth it. That's why they used computer graphics.
