This radio used to be the project of another hobbyist. He died 10 years ago and never got the chance to fix it. So I ended up with some of his unfinished projects. I know that the radio in the thumbnail is not a Freudenstadt 12 but a Bodensee 12. But I liked the nice cabinet so that is why.

Greeting Sir Purepepper ( Ladamurni?), I am from Indonesia and currently restoring a Grundig 3048w/3D which is quite similar with you are working with in the video. Mine has both side mounted speakers off. I am trying to find information for the replacement but could not find the specification information of the speakers, not mentioned on the Schematic from Radio Museum. How many ohm is the side mounted speaker? thank you and I like your video

Hallo, klinkt als een Nederlander :) . ik ben werkzaam bij een repair-café en heb een Blaupunkt Granada 2220 uit 1955, en hij heeft het probleem, dat hij aan gaat, lampje gaat branden, maar verder niks. Heb jij tips?
Ik zou het draadje doorknippen of het lampje er uit halen. :)
Ik heb natuurlijk geen glazen bol, en zonder de radio voor mij te hebben is dat moeilijk. Maar goed ik zal eens proberen; het lampje brand, dat betekend dat je in een ieder geval 6,3 volt wisselspanning hebt en dat de buizen zouden moeten gloeien want die zitten (meestal) op hetzelfde circuit. Meet vervolgens spanning op de bus elco dat is een aluminium bus met 2 aansluitingen er staat dan meestal op: 2 x 50uf en 350volt. Meet op die aansluiting of je zo rond de 270 volt gelijkspanning hebt. mocht dat niet zo zijn meet dan aan de gelijkrichter aan de kant van de trafo daar zou je dan toch rond de 280 volt wisselspanning moeten meten. Is dat zo dan zit er tussen de wikkeling van de trafo en de gelijkrichter een weerstand van 2 watt en 100 ohm die kan onderbroken zijn.
@@ladamurni Update: radio gaat aan, de buizen lichten allemaal op (wel flauwtjes), er komt gekraak uit de speakers, als ik hem op ukw (FM?) en ik draai aan de tune knop hoor ik niks anders dan gekraak. De magic-eye licht oranje op. Het draadje van de tuner van de AM en andere tuners is geknapt, enig idee hoe ik dat kan repareren

Hi Leon, I hope you are enjoying the new scenery! Also, thank you for providing such high quality, educational content! Your channel has been a valued resource for my introduction into the vintage radio hobby. I have a question for you if you don’t mind. I’m working on a Grundig SO262 U. Currently I’m getting power to all filaments and dial lamps but no sound output whatsoever. Not even static or a hum just dead silence. It had 4 shorted EL95s which I’ve replaced. I’ve cleaned all of the electrical contacts. I’ve also run a signal through the output transformer which came through all speakers successfully. What would be my next logical step here? Any assistance is greatly appreciated!
I should also mention that the absence of sound is occurring across all radio and input functions.
Hi Matt, thank you for watching. Your Grundig is a console radio? The ones made for export had a different tube setting. Over here we have 2x ELL80 in these radio’s in stead of 4x EL95 as far as I could get any information about so262. I could be totally wrong. Anyway what I would like to know is why all 4 of them were shorted? What are the voltages? Pin2: 8,5v pin5: 240v and pin 6: 230v more or less. If they are to far off check the capacitors on pin 2 and 5 and the resistor on pin 6. For not getting any sound, it is hard to tell without the radio in front of me. But what does happen if the radio has been stored for a long time is that the contacts of the pushbuttons get corroded. Clean them with some deoxit and see if that helps.
@@ladamurni hi Leon thank you for the reply! Yes this is a console radio. I don’t know it’s past history but when I got it the fuse was blown and all 4 output tubes shorted so perhaps it was surged in the past? The pin voltages on those output tubes are definitely off. I’m getting close to 2V on Pin2 and 370V or more on Pin5. I plan on recapping however I’m hesitant to go further due to the fact that there’s absolute silence on all band waves and inputs. I’ve used deoxit to no effect. One thing that stands out is the volume potentiometer is sealed. Could that be my problem that this pot is oxidized and not able to get any deoxit in there? If you think that’s possible I can try to pull it apart.
Or could the lack of B+ cause the absence of any sound? If you think that’s a possibility I’ll go ahead with the recap.
@@mattking4267 Potmeter could be dirty, but you would still hear something if you turn it even when it is just crackling noises. But if it sealed it should be good. Sometimes I drill a little hole instead of taking it apart.

Hallo Leon .Goede video. Ik heb een Denon PMA 925R met een probleem met de speaker-uitgangen. Hij heeft 4 uitgangen , 2 aan 2 verdeeld over A en B. Links boven speaker-uitgang in A werkt prima . Rechts boven speaker-uitgang in A doet niks. Daaronder speaker in B , links onder speaker-uitgang in B doet het af en toe , rechts onder speaker-uitgang in B doet niks. Alles gezien vanaf de achterkant van de versterker. Waar moet ik als eerste het probleem zoeken ?? Groet B
In de versterker zit een relais dat de speakers inschakelt. Dat kun je horen een paar seconden nadat je de versterker aangezet hebt. Daarvan kunnen de contacten vies geworden zijn.

Mooi exemplaar hoor! Deze ziet er nog zeer goed uit! 🙂 Ik heb dezelfde, 26 jaar geleden door mijn vader van de vuilstort gered. Ik heb de AEG selenium gelijkrichter een paar jaar geleden vervangen voor een diodebrug en de 2X47uF elco ook vervangen. De anodespanning wordt dan wel wat hoog. Bij mij was het touwtje van de afstemnaald zo slecht dat het brak. De kast is niet meer donkerbruin maar legergroen geworden. De "slotjes" op de sierlijst is een probleem ja. Ik heb er op mijn 1077 nog maar ééntje. Hoe ze eraf hebben kunnen vallen? Maar mooi werk hoor!
