I have rode the meanest dirt bikes and streets bikes the world has to offer.. I miss my 1999 mach z more than all of them. Unhinged brute of a machine.
Don't care about 4 stroke turbo but a well tuned XCR will beat a Mach Z
If both are well tuned/clutched it is a dead race. Both weigh within 20 lbs of each other wet weight and both have almost the exact same horsepower.
It all depends on the driver and all the clutches and jetting was set up... My money is on the Ski-Doo. I have yet to see a Polaris set up as well as mine..

That actually sounds pretty accurate. Factory shoot out Z sleds were doing that in old forge NY and other places. Usually the wind makes a 5-10mph difference whether against the wind or with it. I had a 98 and wide open it made my eyes water too much to read the speedometer lol sick fast for 98

Huh? Displacement is displacement. Mach z 1000 has a bigger motor than the triple,so mach 800 was the underdog. A mach 1000 with clicker on 3 and pinweight added will pull like a frieght train,and will run mid 120s..I've built many mach 800s and owned a few mach 1000s,and with simple clutch work they're a monster

I agree. The method is supposed substitute for an inter cooler for a long blast to prevent detonation. Looks things wound up too rich.

Ski-doos are not fast ,alot of HP but the clutch es suck on all the other brands I knew all the fast guys in the twi cities almost no ski-doo guys

Love my mach mach z 800 so the 800 takes out the 1000. Should I buy a mint 800 for $1500. Or spend 2500. For the 1000. What do you think?. If the 1000 doesn't have a ton Of upgrades. 800s are everywhere

On paper power wise the XCR was fastest triple ever produced! This guy didn't know how to drive a snowmobile to save his life! What a embarrassment to rest of us XCR owners!!
Same for me i had a 2000 mach z 800 clutched, studded, boyesen reeds it was fast but now i have a 2002 xcr triple and its scary fast. But i like them all, much more than the newer sleds.

Back in the mid 90’s early 2000 when I use to ride, Dorset was a hot spot everyone use to show up on Saturday. There would be hundreds of sleds and people on the dock and along the side of the ice.
809 rotax triple hard to beat on lake even stock. Mine pulled like a freight train. Those apex are nice sleds too no slouch.
