This channel is a tribute to Jack Haley, an actor best known for his role as the Tin Man in The Wizard of Oz (1939).
I've always loved his interpretation of the Tin Man and as I began to delve into his filmography I discovered that he also played in other lovely classics, most of which are now practically unavailable. So I decided to gather some of his films and songs to keep the memory of this wonderful actor alive.

Jack haley is my second cousin. I couldn't be more proud.
Who could ask for anything more? How about the actual film and not just the trailer from the re-release. no where on YT at this writing.
Very nice 🙂👍🎥
i cannot find the full movie
Okay, how am I suddenly becoming obsessed with those who portray my comfort characters? First Jack Haley, now Karen Prell. Strange...
5:50: "Then you will come?" "It won't be long soon..." - definitely pre-Hays Code!
95 comments as I post this and not one mentions Ann Sothern!
Oh! Uh, come to think of it, you're right! Sorry! Ahahahahah... I'm just autistic, and obsessed with Jack, sooooo...
The Title Is: Danger, Love At Work
O
What
What a coincidence! Jack Haley was born on the 10th of August. 126 years later, Cure Majesty gets leaked 👀
If you check the final editing/cutting script for "The Wizard of Oz", you'll be disappointed to see a number of scenes and bits for Jack Haley that were CUT from the final print before it's release in 8/39. Most unfortunate is his scene in the OPENING FARM sequence, where he shows Dorothy his "invention"..a contraption he's built in the barn that's supposed to be able to control wind and cyclones. There were lines about the importance of OIL, the problems with RUST, etc...all of which POINTED TO HIS FUTURE OIL PROBLEMS as the Tin Man. When Aunt Em tells them to get back to work, she says to Hickory (Haley) "I saw you tinkering with that contraption", which makes no sense since we never see it. And have you ever wondered why Haley says "Someday they're going to build a statue to me..."?? That also refers to his invention, which was CUT from the film during audience previews, since MGM execs feared the film was too long (..and many fans are familiar with the fact that "Over the Rainbow" was almost cut in that scene for the very same reason). ALSO CUT was a "BEE" scene, where the witch makes good on her promise to turn the Tin Man into a beehive (animated, cartoon bees were supposed to emerge from his body). The Tin Man then accidentally kills a bee, and cries over its death (a still from this scene was actually released, and can be seen as part of the montage on the back of the 1956 LP jacket). Lots of other single lines of Haley's were also clipped prior to release; it would be a real miracle if any of these out-takes survived and would re-appear. LR
Same with Phil Hartman's extra dialogue in "Kiki's Delivery Service"...
Huh??@@SillyCreatureSally
English is not my first language, but his voice was so soft and sweet😅I can identify it miles away❤
Me too! If he sang to me I would have swooned!
Jack Haley was cuter than a baby bunny!
Cuter than Jonah Hauer-King!
*blushes and casually eats ice-cream*
Thanks for this. I remembered this catchy song from the movie.
The Female and Male voice in harmony is beautiful.
To live in a heaven... Alone... with... you!!!! *Blushes*
2:45 She don't want that.
1:32 Don't worry, he's not gonna rust himself.
Yeah, he's not outside of the Witch's castle this time!
@@CadeD679 Or in the Deadly Poppy Field, where he actually DID rust himself crying! Not to mention... It was snowing!
He sang a romantic song to the Tin Woman
I love his voice. I can't go more than a day w/out hearing his voice. His songs are great stress relief. 😌
Quem inventou isso? Ficou tão boa essa cena, essa música e as roupas! Talentosos e bonitos ❤
It's The TIN MAN IN HIS Natural State!! It's Nice To See JACK HALEY AS HE Really Was!!
I bet you said that because of his undeniable cuteness.
We saw him as in a humanoid form as Hickory -- all cute and rugged in denim!
@@CadeD679 He was so fricken adorable
@@SillyCreatureSally He was absolutely precious!
@@CadeD679 He was! I love him so much.
Love this old music and both sang so beautifully.
3:15 That laugh was so cute :3
Just watching Jack Haley in 'One Body Too Many' He's the best thing in it. He's so underrated as an actor.
Auntie Em was in that one, along with him!
Apparently, he was too cute to be a leading man... But he wasn't really the comic relief type either.
Adorable.
Lol, people have seen me and others talking about Jack Haley in a certain way, saying things like: "He's so cute!" "I've had a crush on him all my life." "He's adorable, I just wanna hug him." "Oh my god! Jack's voice!" "Look at those big blue eyes." "His voice is so dreamy." And things like that. And yet, when people see that, they barely raise an eyebrow. Then the Rugrats reboot brings Kimi back before Dil, and everyone riots. I want to know, if crushing on a 1930s actor is okay, how is the appearance order of two FRICKING CARTOON CHARACTERS not okay?! WHAT KIND OF WORLD DO WE LIVE IN? LIKE, IT'S A REBOOT! THE MOVIES ARE NOT DECANONISED! IT'S LIKE WICKED, IT'S AN ALTERNATE UNIVERSE. IT'S KIND OF A FANFIC. Dil IS coming, it has been confirmed. But you don't care because you're too angry that KIMI IS ALREADY HERE! Why?! JUST WHY! *sobs hysterically* Keep all of the Jack Haley simps in mind, please. I'm going insane over it.
Someone reading this be like: Also... Why are all of the Jack Haley fans... _simps?_ *CZcams?*
What a wonderful singing voice he had - he was the perfect choice for the Tin Man.
IKR!

1:31: I imagine this kind of scene 4 another movie where all of the staff loves their employer because of his kindness and grace 🌹👼💖 Then they waves farewell 2 him as he drives off feeling positive 4 the Big day ahead 🚘👼💐 Plus it's the kind of song U could get up in the morning in a positive mood with 🌅🤩💗
There's a section of film that's missing. Put in folthrk and you'll see it You'll have to similarly put in folthrl to get back here.
The "I wanna be Bad" number starts at 0:10.
Song "Then I'll have Time for You" starts at 4:29
I love jack haley. He was such a versitle actor
I love him too. Words cannot describe how wonderful he was.
Well if it ain't Nick Chopper aka Tin Man himself introducing Dorothy Gale's Daughter, Liza Minnelli aka Dorothy Gale Jr* 🌈👧💖
Nick Chopper is the BEST character. Don't change my mind. He's pretty high on my favourite list, alongside Baron Humbert von Gikkingen.
@@SillyCreatureSally C00LiO ❤😎💖
@@gabrielvidrio3210 Not gonna try to change my mind then?
@@SillyCreatureSally Nope 😊 It's cool if U admire another literary character than the ones I've mentioned 📔📖❤ So I say C00LIO 👍😎💖
@@gabrielvidrio3210 Okay.
“Danger, Love At Work” is an example of a film genre that was popular for a short in the late 1930s: the screwball comedy. In such movies, the lead character would have to deal with one or more really kooky or oddball people, who often were rich. Here, Ann Sothern is a member of the eccentric family that Jack Haley is having to cope with in a real estate sale. And of course, they fall in love - if you couldn’t guess.
Haley is an underrated golden age actor. Multitalented actor singer and dancer. I could listen to him sing anything, he has a lovely voice. Although what was he eating in the beginning of the video, cotton balls?
I absolutely loved him as the Tin Man in The Wizard of Oz.
Jack Haley is fantastic.
Yeah
0:21, 1:12, 5:56 Any other fangirls want to join me when time travel is ever invented and go back in time and steal Arthur Jarrett from Ginger Rogers so we can have him all for ourselves? Who's with me? =D The guys can have Ginger, we girls will go after adorable Arthur! ^U^ <3 ...I wish..... Until then if that actually EVER becomes a reality (with all this new crazy advanced technology who knows?) It's not fair, like, she's so lucky to be with him way back then in that era! <3 .... Sadly, I was born WAY too late where guys like him are sadly pretty much non-existent these days anymore, MAYBE in opera still, but even that's starting to become non-existent and kinda rare these days. Why can't there be more guys like Arthur these days, like, what in the world happened?
I'm with you 😢
Were all married couples in old Hollywood films comprised of gay men and lesbians?
No, but here it made for a funny comedy duo.
Für jeden Handgriff ein anderer Diener. Was für ein Haushalt. Sowas wünsche ich mir 🤣
I always love Jack Haley. Do you have his other Vitaphone shorts?
Reminds me of how my husband and I squabble. haha. It's so relatable which is why it's so funny
What movie is this?
This is a creative and entertaining film.
Gibt's den Film auch auf deutsch?
Beautiful song and great singing duet
Jack had that great " Transatlantic " accent.
Born in Boston.
My god he was such a cutie back in the day.
I love Jack Haley so much.
Same
Jack Haley was an unusual type of man who had more of a stage persona, but had the problem of not being the "Hollywood" type of Leading Man. As a result he was cast in supporting comical and novelty roles.
He was a charming, appealing light comedian/crooner/dancer......and perfectly suited to play the sentimental Tin Man.
where did you get those movies?and do you have f man 1936
There is a new bio on Patsy Kelly thats well worth watching if you love this woman. czcams.com/video/5pX7zu5AqQE/video.html
