Hi there, regarding the hole for the ventilation. Where do you drill as the passenger side where the sink and hob will be have the fuel tank directly under where I want to drill. Cheers
@@Descendx well the gas locker location is mostly determined by where you can drill to vent it. You might have to move the locker a bit further away and then run a longer section of pipe to the hob possibly.

I don’t have a gas locker or any of the connections to connect the gas canister to my hob. I’m guessing I will need someone professional to fit it for me. Really annoying I can’t use it correctly.
Morning, it depends how competent you feel you are, it can be fitted by anyone as you can buy kits online but I would recommend getting a “habitation check” carried out before using the van just to be safe. Thanks for watching.
Where is your vent? I thought there was an issue with ventilation for these in this location
Hi, thanks for watching. You can’t see it from the camera angle but the vent is on the front right of the cabinet. That is sealed and vented externally to the van. Thanks Ben.
Also just had west dub pop top installed today....good video....i havent tried it yet apart from when i picked van up...good info

Wouldnt this just turn off the alarm and make it useless if a thief presses the alarm off button?
Hi, so this turns off the interior motion sensor only. It means you can move around in the van while sleeping without setting off the alarm. Should someone try and break in from the outside, the alarm will still go off. Also as soon as you open any door it all automatically resets so both exterior and interior are alarmed again. Hi, would you recommend using the gas box? Rather than having the bottle strapped the inside of the cupboard? Does it need to be vented out the underneath?
Yes I would definitely advise using the gas box. These are fully sealed and I have drilled an air vent from the box to the outside of the van, so if the gas leaks then it vents directly outside to avoid inhalation. I hope that makes sense. Thanks Ben.

I’m glad you liked the video. I am afraid I’m not to sure on that one, this is a 5cm topper and the westdubs roof has space for that. I haven’t personally seen a astops up close to see what space is up there when closed. Thanks Ben

@@eddt430 Did you get an answer to your question? I looked at an Austops roof today and was told it couldn't have more than a 1inch memory foam mattress. I'd prefer to keep the 2inch / 5cm one up there, so I think I'll go West Dubs.

can you not just lock the van via the locks on the door near the mirror adjustments? that just locks it rather than arming the alarm ?
That is very possible! I will look into this, thank you. I was just going off what the manual mentioned :)

Hi, When traveling you need to take the regulator off the gas cylinder? Thank you. (I pick up my new campervan next week!)
Morning, I just make sure the regulator is turned off when travelling. There seems to be many different opinions on this subject. I hope you enjoy your new van! 👍🏼

Great vid, just had the westdubs roof fitted yesterday so will be viewing this a few times i reckon. Where did you get that front board from? Thats not standard is it?
Awesome, I am glad you liked the video and hope it helps you with your roof. That’s right, the front board isn’t standard, I made this myself as I felt it finished the roof off well. It hides all the canvas and keeps it away from your head when driving. It also means that you get a full length bed up top as it’s covers the hole, helpful when you are a bit taller :) Thanks Ben.
Hi there, thank you for the video. Is the black strap attached to the inside of the box or just the gas cylinder?
Hi, no problem at all. So the strap is attached to the rear left corner of the box so that it holds the bottle to one side and away from the door. I hope that helps :)

Great Video. What mattress did you use? I am getting a Westdubs fitted next month.
Thank you. So we used a 5cm double size memory foam mattress topper. The roof is slightly smaller than a double so I trimmed a small amount off one edge so it fitted without touching the sides. The westdubs roof is brilliant, cannot fault it.
Thanks for this but isnt orange hose on permanent install against Gas Safe/Euro regulations?
Thanks for watching! So what you see in the video is the orange flexible hose but before this exits the gas locker it joins to solid copper gas pipe 👍🏼 so should anything happen to the flexible hose it’s contained in the vented gas locker. I hope this makes sense? Cheers.

Hi Tom. The plugs that the pipes go though came with the Jerry cans. These were purchased from jacksons leisure. They also came with a red screw cap to use when carrying across campsites etc so it doesn’t spill. Thanks Ben.
