Easy Steel Workbench You can build with simple tools
Today, I will build an all steel workbench with basic tools. This is a great DIY project for any skill level person who needs a solid bench.

I finally got the 8.75 rear axle housing properly put together. The axles are in, and the disc breaks are installed. Most importantly, the car is back to a rolling chassis #Dodge #vintagecars #mopar #diy #flatlandrelics
Welding suspension bracket 8.75 Mopar rear
zhlédnutí 46Před měsícem
Today, I carefully weld the 4-link suspension bracket to my 8.75 axle housing. Slowly and carefully, I weld so as not to warp the tube. Have fun watching me in my ridiculous hat. Thanks for watching #welding #dodge #mopar #diy #flatlandrelics #homemade

Sit back and enjoy this video while I work feverishly to start the front end tear down. I remove the grill assembly and both front fenders. Then I proceed to cut off the unnecessary structural piping and check for rust. Thanks for watching! #Dodge #WM300 #powerwagon #diy #flatlandrelics

This episode I redeemed myself to the Gods of Hot rodding by fixing my upside down suspension brackets. 🙃 #Dodge #hotrod #mopar #4link #diy
Nice , I love making tools ad benches 👍👍
I really need the bench, glad I finally made it
Love the gantry crane. Good times.👍
I use it all the time. It's super helpful as long as the chassis can roll.
Been there myself. Tough Ole beauty's. Your getting there. TGP
I enjoy the process. I'm really excited to get this truck drivable again. It takes time, but I actually like doing the work.
Good buy at the flea market grinder. Painting the floor at your mount is in excellent idea. thank you for teaching me that. I noticed the ground cord was kind of close to your bearing race for your axle.. I hope the ground didn’t arc and pit the surface. The microphone is good. I liked it. I was amused. It was kind of like I was chilling at the shop with you working, which is what I tried to emulate. NICE 👍
I like the microphone too, now I just have to stop breathing like an old man.
🙌
I like those tow hooks you pulled off. Very good.
I gotta save those for later
SWEET. Good video man!
Hey, thanks, man. I'm trying to make it look interesting
Could you turn the iPhone sideways next time?
What does that change?
🙌
NICE SETUP👍
Little by little this monster gets put together
Absolutely love your 300!!!
Thank you. Stick around for the teardown and rebuild.
The renovation looks good. Good plan. I think you will get lucky with straightening out the front frame rail extensions.🤞
I'm all ready out there again working on the shop roof. It's a big hurdle but I need the space
So cool. I love it! Definitely on my list of trucks to one day have. Thanks for sharing it. Can’t wait to see more.
I am excited to get this going. Definitely more to watch in the near future
It reeks of toughness! I’m rebuilding a ‘67 W200 as we speak. I can’t wait until it’s on the road. Best of luck with the restoration! I forgot to mention that I subbed!
I'm really excited to get this back on the road. Thanks for watching
What a great find. And, on the surface, in pretty good condition. Glad to see this one has found someone that will breathe new life into old iron. New sub, along for the ride.
Glad to hear you are interested. Once I get into the tear-down, this will be fun to watch.
That’s right, keep givin her. Always learning and having fun 👍👍👍
This car has come a long way from a stock roller... thanks for watching
Flipping the raer end up side down , would have been interesting, to say the least
I was checking a diagram for the center section yesterday and was like "HOLD UP" 😂😂😂
NICE!
Thanks. Engine and trans are finally in!
Thanks for subscribing to our channel. We returned the favor, Good Video. Back in the day I welded body pannells with a acytlene torch and coat hangers. I like our wire welder.
The fender I' m patching has a gas weld seam across the front that's probably older than me. I use tig and fluxcore as my main 2 types.
Old beast transformation
Yeah, pretty much. It should be a little faster when I'm done.
It never hurts to wipe down your parts and welding wire with a clean cotton rag and acetone. Any oils can contaminate your welds.
Appreciate the input. I will try that next time
I would not clean if I was using the MIG, but if I was going to TIG it then I would clean with acetone for sure. When doing critical welds on thin sheet steel using my HF start TIG, I have pre-flow set to 0.5 seconds, and post-flow set to 1 second, as this both protects and cools the weld area to avoid distortion. Also when cutting or grinding away unwanted material, I'd still be cooling every 5 seconds with compressed air and/or a cool rag to avoid distorting the panel
Right on, thank you for the input.
A mig/mag device is used for these needs, not a tig. You have big distortions and overheating of the material.
Thanks for the input
Right on, practices, everything
O joy
Might have to get a different steering box set up. Vega is very popular
Yeah I got some more planning to do
Relocate Radiator to back or angle it.
Electric water pump
Even with that I still have to move the block back. I am considering it
E fan?
I will research that thanks
I love the gantry crane. They are fun. Are you using the mig welder as fluxcore?
Yes, it's Flux core. I use that for all my welding that is heavier than sheet metal. That gantry crane is great, I lift everything with it.
Keep up the hard work man! Time and practice makes perfect 😊👌
Thank you.
You got 7 likes at least I Am 8th like
Next time. Give yourself wire thickness space in between the 2 plates unless you just plan to fuze it
I tacked it with no filler and then did a pass with the least amount of filler rod as I could.
Yea. It seems like you have the right idea. Just the technique in your prep and speed of weld.
Looks like a cool clean metal build what is the cars year make model?
It's a 1940 Dodge D-17
I love my buzz box Lincoln cranked up for my butt welding sheet metal. Wood stumps are nice for shaping for sure 👍
I'm still building my arsenal of welding and metal shaping tools. And definitely still learning how to work with metal.
STEP DRILL BIT FOR THE WIN🏆
That's a must-have for "resizing" holes
Welding thin materials can be difficult. Unfortunately, I don’t know any tricks that could help other than work on a the lowest possible setting and use super thin filler rods.
I got some better TIG supplies and will be practicing more soon. The supplies I originally got did work well together. Wrong settings and wrong filler rod.... there will be many more patch panels soon
