City Out of Mind Music Video
I am very, very pleased to officially release a very exciting project that is a labor-of-love collaboration with my music students Emma Billings and Siena Dziedzic!
Siena is an avid piano-lessons student (10 y.o) and over the past few months, started to use her knowledge of music theory and song structure to start writing her own music! Together we created this song, using loops and recording instrumental tracks on Garageband.
Over some time we created this melody and wrote the lyrics, and I knew exactly the perfect fit to be our featured vocalist! Voice student, Emma Bilings (14 y.o).
We recorded Emma's vocals during her next lesson.
The location you see in this video is our beautiful Hartford's Elizabeth Park where we got together for a hot summer day to capture some beautiful video footage!
Putting this all together was very fun and we officially presented the music video during our Summer Showcase on June 30th at Parkville Sounds in Hartford!
Please join me in celebrating these students for their hard work and immense talents!
Thank you for watching, we hope you enjoy!

Healing Affirmations for you before the Thanksgiving Holiday
zhlédnutí 50Před rokem
The holiday season comes with SO much hustle & bustle and just straight BUSY-NESS! And if you're a sensitive empath like I am - we can tend to absorb a LOT of the dynamics and energy around us. Taking just 5 minutes to surround ourselves in positive vibrations and affirmations can make a huge difference so that when we show up at that dinner table, we show up as our true and full selves! I want...
Here's what would be very helpful - a warm-up with no talking
@@yourvoicecoach-nancywalker6061 thanks for your comment
God! Dear teacher, you named Jeff Rolka, excelent teacher; he does not talk too much and allow the student to be involved i n a body CONCENTRATION ; acuracy, challenge: costo diafragmatic , open ribs movement....extraordinary"! Although you are very good, much bla, bla...make the concentration IMPOSIBLE; The excercice- we follow you, as we can.... accurately...is interrupted (1)0000...) times , very inconforable..sometimes unbearable😢 please, may be - as Jeff , Cappucini, Bartoli, Calsberg " magisters" can you in some way to concentrate the explanation and allow " our body" act. A teacher told me once; you should concentrate , feeling your body to fly with your voice ; your body is your voice...difficult??Concentration is vital., thank you and sorry. you are a very good teacher, but please!!😢😢😢❤❤❤
Thank you for the pleasant lesson
Thanks so much!! So glad you’ve enjoyed it!
I do this several times a week. And I send it to my students! tysm!
That is so neat !! I’m so glad you’re able to use it that often & to share it! I’m honored - so glad you’re enjoying it. Thank you!!
Thanks a lot, actually it helps a lot that you continue singing, especially for beginners for whom it is not intuitive to gradually increase or lower the pitch, so your voice guides through the exercise. It may seem redundant to more experienced users but there is a ton of content for them in youtube, so please keep it this way
I’m so SO happy you feel this way and that you’re able to utilize this video. 🎶 thank you so much for commenting and for being such a kind person. Wishing you a beautiful day !
I really enjoyed this video! Thank you!
I am SO so glad!! Thank you so much!!!

Please do one on how to sing low notes and sing it as you do the exercise. Thanks!
Hello! Thank you for this request ! I will keep this in mind for the next one ✨

Sophia, your voice is so comforting and soothing. I am not doing well in my health right now, but when I hear you sing about my favorite subject (God), you remind me of His beauty and I forget my troubles even if it’s for a moment. I am so grateful to God to have brothers and sisters who are able to share their gifts. God bless you.
Oh wow 🥹 I am so, so honored. This has completely made my day. How blessed that we are able to connect! May you find moments of peace throughout your days and relief from any pain & suffering. ❤️
Thank you Sophia Lily, This is wonderful for my voice. I’m a second soprano in a community choir and enjoy every exercise.
Hello!! Thank you so much! I am SO happy you’ve enjoyed! Your comment is so kind and has made my day!
It would be nice if you don't sing on top of the whole exercise, it's very distracting and unnecessary
Hi! Thanks for the comment- your feedback helps for future videos.
Shut up Karen
Thank you for helping me SURPRISE🤪 myself😁!
Haha!! What a great comment!! That’s awesome !!!
What a beautiful voice you have, Sophia.

Hi Sophia ❤ Love your channel and specially your voice
Thank you so much!!!
Thank You for the great warm up and also accompaniment, I am a bass baritone and find it very good exercise to follow you in head voice almost as high as you, a soprano, this is such good exercise for me. I am also a fan of Jeff Rolka . more videos please😯
Hi Frank! Wow! This is so kind of you to say, I’m honored. I was very curious how baritones & tenors would do with this range, awesome to hear you’re able to utilize it too! I’m so happy to hear this. And yes! Jeff is great!!
Thank you very very much for this beautiful voice lesson ❤️ I'm going to watch this 3x a day promise and the two other videos voice lessons it helps me alot 🥰 i love it ❤
Oh wow !! This is so great! Thank you for such a kind comment- I can’t wait to hear how this helps you over time! 🎶

I think i'm at the right place :))
I love your style of vocal warm. It's like all in one ❤ Thank you so much 💗
Yaaay! I’m so glad. Thank you so much !!!
I have struggle with higher notes and just started with these exercises. I can nicely sing lower notes (men singers suit me) however I wonder if I can do more. What is your opinion, do you think anyone can sing higher if he/she practices? Even if I sing lower note songs? Thanks for answers.
Hi there! Great question. A singer can always expand their range with the right technical training. There will eventually be a max out, given that your instrument is your body and every body is different. But I believe that with proper training, accessing those higher notes in a safe & appropriate way is possible! It may not be as high in pitch as compared to the range of another singer, but I would say any singer can expand their range into higher notes if you use the right technique ! ☺️☺️
I like the comparison here of going to the gym. On your first day of working with a personal trainer, they may have you do body weight exercises (in this metaphor, singing in your normal range with good technique). Then, over time you start to add 5 lbs to your exercises once you have the form down. (Metaphor: singing higher/ lower pitches and moving through pitches faster). Gym analogy: Then you can add more weight overtime, and maybe even start doing more agility exercises. Singing analogy: once you have a great foundation, you can just keep building and strengthening over time! So yes! A LOT can happen with simple repetition and consistency. One way to find out- stick with this video for 30 days doing it every morning, and notice the difference after that time !! It will be noticeable for sure !!
@@SophiaLily thank you so much, I think the same. I will ckeck your training videos.
Show de bola, seus vídeos. Muito bom, Deus abençoe!
Obrigado!!!
I hope you do more of these! :) I always want to just play a vocal warmup in the car while I drive, but most other ones I find have so much talking in between you don’t get as much time for the warmup!
Hi Katelynn! I am absolutely elated that you’ve found this helpful. I do that too! My car rides are my continued education time I swear 😅 so happy you enjoyed it !!
I loved this and found it so helpful! Will definitely continue to sing along and learn with your work :) thank you!!
Hi Bellamy! Thank you so much, I am so honored & grateful for such a kind comment! I’m so glad it’s worked for you. Hope you have a beautiful day!
Awsom
Hi frm kerala india
You have a wonderful angelic voice. God bless you 🙏🏼 🎶
That is such a sincere compliment! Thank you I am so touched!!
I suggest not stopping to speak during scales. You explain it first and then we are trying to follow you so when you abruptly stop to talk it’s distracting
Hi Ashli! This is a vocal lesson video that encompasses the why & how of the exercise, but if you check out my “Warm up with me” video- it’s just the exercises without any stops ☺️

This is wonderful news!! Thank you so much. I’m glad it helped you!
Very beautiful, calming, and peaceful. Thank you and God bless you. 🙂
Thank you so, so very much- that is such a compliment ! 🙏🏼 🎶 I appreciate it !!
Brilliant so very grateful. Thank you, I have a lot of trouble with lower notes especially after singing a lot in my high register ie. Carmine Burana 1st sop. Kind regards Margareta
Hi Margareta! Thank you for commenting & for watching! Yes! As soprano 1’s we can be very comfortable and adept in that high range, and the low range is tricky! The Hmm-Mah exercise and consciously “singing with your speaking voice” will help a lot to bring out that rich lower register! Thanks again and keep singin !!
hi i have a song on youtube call he my help i wont to know if i am singing with air flow
