Last Day Laugavegur Trail - Porsmork/ Thorsmork Valley Iceland
In this Video you will see the last day of hiking on the Laugavegur Trail. Going from Botmar into Porsmork Valley. We hiked through our last scene of black sand lava fields and entered the lush valley of the gods, Porsmork/Thorsmork Valley. We wound around, up, over and through, lush green trails crossing an icy glacier river. Viewing blue glaciers and volvanoes, and the sweet smelling birch forest. It was a spectacular experience. It was a bit primitive staying in the huts without power and quick showers in another area, but it was good for all of us to be disconnected from our phones and connect with people from around the world.
We went with a company called Arctic Adventures and it was a wonderful experience for all of us. If you're thinking of going, I guarantee you will be glad you did. It's unlike any other place on earth.

In this video it shows day 3 of the Laugavegur trail in the highlands of Iceland. Hiking from Alftavatn to Botnar. We hiked through ancient lava fields, across carpets of green moss, along the beautiful Markarfljosgljufur Canyon. It was another spectacular hike with ever changing landscape and magic around. We used the tour group Arctic Adventures.

From the rhyolite mountains, to the obsidian fields, to the steaming geisers, to snow fields, crossing glacier rivers, and arriving in the valley of the lake Alftavatn. A 14 mile hike that was different every step of the way.

This was the toughest day in elevation and descent of the whole 110 miles, and 11 stages of TMB. 12.2 miles,, 4577 feet ascent, 3258 feet descent.
