Question, have you ever put wax over this momigami paper as a sealer? Like, use Mod Podge then use wax or tinted wax over it? I like that soft, slight sheen that waxing gives.

Oh, I really want to try this. Just finished watching your tutorial on making the paper-cloth. I think I will look for a large picture of Frida Kahlo and print it out, make it into momigami and decoupage onto a canvas. Then, add mixed media stuff like jewellery, silk flowers, etc. Or make smaller momigami as you have with lots of bright designs. Then decoupage onto a canvas & add Frida over that. Oh, I can’t wait to try! 👏👏👍🏼👍🏼🥰🥰🥰🥰 TFS.

Does the lotion ever dry out?

Is a thicker lotion/ cream better for momigami making?

So you don’t add more lotion, just the ‘less than a tbsp’ you showed us?

Love this! I just discovered Momogami last week. My favs have been National Geographic pages due to intense, rich colors. Loooove your country cottage cover. You just KNIW if you went in that lovely home it would be filled with cut garden bouquets, cool antique tables, intriguing flea market finds decor, cookies baking, and a pumpkin spice candle burning.

I have done this with olive oil. I use colorful magazine pages, 1 and 2 sided. I dont print anything. So easy to do while watching tv. Even odd images work for this because after being treated, the image takes on an abstract look. Example: a colorful pic of a tractor or a bug or anything. Even solids take on a leatherish finish. Hope that makes sense.

How durable are momigammi papers?

So sorry I am not understanding what the printer or the printer paper has to do with anything. Are these pages you like from a magazine and you scanned them through the printer. I must have missed something. I look forward to hearing your reply. Thanks. And yes they are beautiful.

Absolutely gorgeous. I live in the redwoods too, and have just a few in my actual city lot, but the remains of a small grove to the east and west of our house. This is BEautiful, Chris. Did you originally paint the pieces that became the digitals? Or if not, what ARE they? It makes me want to make one for myself. I still don’t think my journaling habits lend themselves to a journal like this. But I so appreciate them.

I grew up as a Catholic also so I get it! My sisters and I always have a saying, “Once a Catholic, always a Catholic” even if you go on a different path. I have always loved Mother Mary as well and have kept from my childhood lots of holy cards, books, pamphlets, small statues, rosary beads etc and things belonging to my mother who passed away 5 yrs ago; she was devout all her life. Hair conditioner or water with glycerine (1 part Gly to 6 parts water) will work too.

It is an age thing. Being 76, I have stopped buying stuff and am trying to use it up. I only ever buy tapes or glue now as I have enough paper to sink a ship. ❤🇦🇺
