Installing and testing an in-line clutch pull reducer
In this video, I demonstrate and explain how I installed an in-line clutch pull reducer, as well as test whether or not it reduces the amount of force required to operate the clutch.
I found that this product worked very well at both making the clutch lighter and increasing the clutch's range of engagement.
Part used (many similar can be found searching easy pull clutch lever or similar): www.ebay.com/itm/293973716451?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=zrfusfuoqws&sssrc=2047675&ssuid=QRhxyQxQRLK&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY

Stihl FS56 VS Echo SRM225
zhlédnutí 33KPřed 2 lety
In this video I explain the differences and compare the STIHL FS65 and the ECHO SRM225 I'm sure you can tell that I definitely prefer the Stihl. Both are great trimmers but I don't see why anyone would buy the Echo over the Stihl especially after seeing how well the FS56 holds up over time. When you bump the head on the Echo, the engine really struggles to keep the rpms up enough to cut the lin...

Can you get parts for the stihl from Home Depot or lowes?
@@ews-texas5258 no you have to go to a dealer
Very helpful, Thank you.
Dude I’m about to do this on my 99. She’s alittle Smokey on start up but she compression tested about 128 psi so I’m just going seals and maybe the 366 zoom zoom in the winter.
I personally hate speed feed heads. I can load my Husqvarna t35 head in less than a min and it holds almost 30 ft of .105 line.
Do you know what the 2 cans are with the red vacuum lines? I’m guessing even with the smog pump removed I still need these??? Please help, I’m desperate.
lol no new gardener would spend that amount of money to start of with not very good advice in my opinion
Is the wiring harness for a warrior the same as a wolverine?
Thank you for the video! But my problem remains. Do you have a link for the zoom zoom-carburetor you are using?
Stihl is crap
Thanks. I just picked up a Gravely Pro 50 walk behind for $450 and almost threw up at the cost to buy a sulky
yep. you got that right. stihl is the best
After finding this video I want to put this comment to see if anyone would know possibly what’s wrong with my quad. I got a 2007 Yamaha raptor 350 I’m in the middle of doing the timing chain and when I drained the oil I had some metal in it but not a lot then I took the oil filter off and had a bunch of metal shavings on the filter and in the oil filter housing. When my quad is hot it doesn’t like it shift into neutral does anything think that the neutral gearing in the engine is bad or could it be something else causing my issue?
A lot of people think they have metal in their oil filter when it’s really just clutch dust from normal wear. Unless you have chunks of metal in the filter or more likely the screen, you’re probably okay. Check to see if the particles are magnetic first. As far as neutral being hard to find, your shift star or spring could in theory be worn out but I’d say it’s unlikely. If your bike has an aftermarket direct mount shifter that can make it harder to find too.
@@everythingmechanical4638 I had some pretty small metal chunks in the oil it’s self but nothing huge. I didn’t know if the shift cam assembly would cause something like that or possibly the neutral gear itself is going in wheeler. I just don’t want to run it and have something in the gearing blow or something if it’s potentially only the shift assembly
@@partytime11 I doubt you will, honestly these engines are really tough and the oil pumps are really strong, I’ve seen some pretty big chunks of metal in the bottom of these engines even a tooth off 4th gear and we didn’t know until I tore it apart for a rod knock. I’d check if the chunks are magnetic but again if it looks like a little bit of glitter in the oil filter it’s probably just clutch dust
@@everythingmechanical4638 ok good to know thank you for your opinion cause I’ve been worried I got to take the engine out and do a rebuild which is something I don’t want to do
I have both units. The main difference in servicing them is that the carb on the Echo is easier to take off. It takes 2 screws and is off. With the Stihl, you have to take some of the casing off to service the carb. Servicing the spark arrestor is easier on the Stihl. Both units perform about the same.
6:55 I forget how spoiled I am having the 1/2” Milwaukee impact like I have. It’s not everyday I use it but it’s times like this I’m sure glad I’m not dragging out a hose lol
Redmax all day!
Where is the tracking adjustment bolt? My SWZT is pulling right.
What are the 2 little canisters with the red vacuum lines going to them for? I just purchased on of these trucks with this set up. The check engine light is on. I see the connector like yours, but no canisters
Most of your problems could be solved by using the guard
I have the same critiques with the guard on
This is a great video! Good job! I been wanting to try this cus it’s been getting more and more difficult to get into 1st gear/reverse if I’m completely 100% stopped. 🎉🔧👨🏻🔧
Picked up that same Stihl on sale for 199.99 at Ace hardware. For home use cant go wrong.
We ran fs56 for a long time before we got our 91 and 131 and it's unreal the abuse they have been through and they still stay on the truck as backups
I like the echo 225 it has plenty of power and I have weedeated lots of yards with it
I have a sthil fs 91 and a echo smr 230 and my echo is lighter than the sthil but the sthil has more power
I have basically that same mower although 48" and a bit older...bought new in 1987, never used commercially, always garage stored and still has original belts and tires. One of the most reliable and best built pieces of equipment I have ever owned. Always wondered how that transmission worked...now I know...thank you
That tiny little roller is a key for the oil pump, I’m 3 years to late but I’m here
It looks similar but I replaced the oil pump and the old one wasn’t missing it
It wasn't the pin holding the top timing chain gear? I've dropped one into the engine on a yakama timberwolf. Slippery little buggers.
10:54 oil pump
Very nice! I buy them as you told me - in the off season. Cheaper than dirt sometimes. ONes w/ lots of issues are almost free. Many thanks!
you are so biased towards stihl. you only like the comments saying stihl is better or echo sucks.
I bought a used Scag model: swz48-14kh but the blades won’t engage , seller said he thought it was the switch , how do I check that & how do I determine if it’s clutch ?
Stihl is beter
I have a 86 460 Big Block that is in a E350 motor home. The catalytic converter was sawed out before I took it on as a project and I have been replacing parts like water pump etc. I ran into the smog pump and I was like......Do I need this? Looks like that is a no. Which is going to save me ALOT of time and money. Just gonna get me an alternator bracket replacement and get rid of this thing and bridge where the cat convert was. This baby is LOUD when the pipes been cut. Lol
Where can I buy a good used Sulky and bush mower for a reasonable price?
I see your obviously a Stihl fan, you've commented and hearted all the comments about the Sthil but ignore all the Echo comments. My opinion is Echo is hands down better than the Stihl. I think the SRM has plenty of power for cutting tasks
The 2320 is a great machine and only slightly higher price. Most of the echo comments are people mad that I like the Stihl better but probably never used much else
But regardless if you watch my blower video you’ll see I’m not partial to Stihl I think the RedMax is better machine in my opinion
I have a question: Can I use the fs56rc for commercial use, or is that questionable
Yes! The only real gripe I've heard is that the gas tank is a little small for commercial use. If you don't mind filling up a couple of extra times there's no doubt it'll do the job!
The top bolt on mine did not come out. It bent the bolt and stripped the threads in the pump. I can't get it out now and not sure what to do. Thanks a lot.
That's why I like Stihl better because of their power, efficiency, durability, and their bump feeds are way better then others no offense other companies.
No, echo's speed feed is better because Stihl still has the old tape it apart system
About to buy the echo!
All the ones I found online are out of stock. I really wish they were available, because I have 5 trucks I could mount them in.
rebuilding my 350 and that broken peice looks like the cam end where the sproket goes on same with that little pin
Thank you so much Sir. Sadly mine is squealing hysterically as well. Im Definitly considering this now. I would love to respectfully ask if you also know the belt to use to bypass the A/C ?
Of course. I don’t know the belt for the ac bypass unfortunately
You didn't show how to get the old throttle cable into the new one
toro does make a zero turn walk behind i was looking at and getting rid of my scag belt drive 48
A buddy use used to have one in his lifted truck, which was OK. I grabbed one on marketplace a while back. I was planning to try mounting it in my car, but I'm 6'4", so I need to make sure it's not too low. I just haven't been ambitious enough yet.
Just the video i was looking for, i was looking at buying the echo but they now selling the stihl at $199. I have the FS90 for over 10 years but i'm looking for a string only trimmer. Too much trouble to switch from blade to string and the FS90 is a tank for grass trimming. Considering the stihl is lighter i think ill go stihl as im looking fir a lightweight grass trimmer. At only $200 and lighter weight its not worty the time swapping from blade to string on my FS90
That’s not how u fix the excel pump mod you need to use a small rubber hose that slide in tight on the pump plunger so it advanced an start pushing plunger as soon as you hit the throttle
Once you break the motor in and adjust the carb, the 225 will cut thick grass/weeds no problem.. i love my 225!!!
I have and prefer echo equipment. Just my preference, Their products never let me down and are easy to work on .
Really really like the video thank you anything more on the 1990 F-250 460 I greatly appreciated had the truck over 10 years I think I blew a head gasket foaming out of the radiator foaming so I guess I'll be doing the head gasket soon thanks
I had an Echo SRM 225 but then I sold it to mad dad and then I bought a 420 dollar Stihl FS 94R
How tight was the spring. Mine isn’t budging
