Any luck kitchenaid will come out with a thicker slice attachment ?? I have the original slicer shredder attachment and I use the thicker blade more often than the thin blade. Plus it would be nice to have the choice.

Trying to buy the poker tool ( silver stick looking thing) for my husband because we miss placed the one that came with the pasta attachments but can't find it anywhere on the site. Any help would be appreciated.

AVOID!!! I've had a repairman visiting on this fridge every six months for a range of problems. Each time they solve it, it seems to work for a short period of time, then some other thing effects the refridgerator from working properly.

First a little background on me. I am 80, single woman farmer in a very rural area. Been growing and cooking all my food from scratch for most of my life. I have a 400 s.f area where literally every single inch is filled with cooking appliances. My take on this product. Is it worth the big bucks? Depends. A manual peeler is about $30. It does a splendid job…and will take a lot shorter time to use than this product. However, for me, this product works for sometimes lazy me and is worth the money. It is far from perfect. I am using a commercial KitchenAid mixer. Therefore instead of the #6 setting, I am using #2. Pros: Slices perfectly….and you can get paper thin slices for making applesauce Peels perfectly with little waste Cons They really skimped on making this, consequently it is about half as useful as it could have been 1. The peeler and slicing blade “attachment” are both thin plastic. Both flex like a mother and therefore don’t really have the oomph to push against the apple correctly. This is why some people are complaining it turns apples to mush. I can see this situation breaking both the peeler and slicer down the road. 2. No matter what you do, even if you assist the peeler with your hand, it leaves about 1/4” of the apple unpeeled and unsliced. For me it isn’t a problem, I just finish that piece off with a knife. 3. The apple holder (the pointy piece that holds the apple) is just stupidly designed. It’s thick plastic and consequently doesn’t really want to push into the apple like a metal one would have. The round serrated extension that is supposed to hold onto the apple from the opposite end, is too short. If you are using softer apples, it will sort of work, but if you are using fresh, hard apples, you can forget it. You can assist by manually pushing it in, but what exactly am I paying all this money for? It’s ludicrous to charge $100+ for this. They made the main insert attachment like a tank and then skimp on the most important pieces. I have not used the spiral item for veggies nor tried to peel a potato. If I do, I will post separate comments. I have money to burn so the cost versus the shoddy workmanship isn’t really an issue. For you, it might be.

I wish manufacturers would sell a premium version that doesn't use plastic, alongside the cheaper version. Not for eco reasons, but rather just to have the best version that looks better and is built better and doesn't put plastic in my coffee.
