I also had it where some chips didn't smoke all the way through, I ended up adding more chips mid-way for some briskets and it turned out perfectly. In the manual it says you can switch chips out like this mid-smoke. It all depends on moisture and type of wood, temp, etc. Thanks for posting! Let us know how the next smoke goes!

It indicates when low. When you first get the unit, it says to charge in the sun for a few days before use. We've had this since Oct 2023 and never had the unit show low battery, even when it rains for a week or snowing.

We add about the anticipated size of the adult rootball worth around each plant or seed. Applied by hand, but could be trough and fill as well.

I do not remember if they had a waterproofing on them. Being they are well vented, they dry out quickly. We've started to steer away from waterproof clothing as it's a big exposure to forever chemicals absorbed through the skin. In fact, I read a report that waterproofing agents are the largest contributor to pfc or forever chemical poisoning since so much gear is treated with it.

The little splash guard on the end is fairly sufficient for most types of jobs, but yeah, bigger is always better with these things, I agree with you. Thanks for the comment. It really helps us small channels try and survive.

Depends on conditions. Also depends on if you put a moisture packet in it. Also depends on if you clean the lip off before putting the top on. We use these for retail use that's fairly quick turnover, not long-term storage. I guess if you prepped them right, and then tossed the containers in a 5 gallon mylar bag, they'd last a long time? I've never had a container come back spoiled as of yet.

Ya, I have a hard time finding affordable metal tub models that are 6cu or higher. Plastic is what it is... tough until the sun says "not today" lol

Ours are outside a lot.. UV will eventually weaken the plastic I'd think, but we're hard on our equipment so it'll be replaces before that would happen after many years.

My uncles warranty on his SRT was voided bc he used Mobil 1. I used it once in my truck & it turned black after only 3k vs Castrol & Valvoline which took twice that to get dark…..not black tho.

​@dontderockmerizz3211 ......I was always told dark oil meant the engine dirt was in your oil, not stuck on your engine parts, clean oil isn't doing the job of cleaning and dispersing the engine grime and getting it through your filter.

@@tallpaul1563 the other brands get dirty too just take longer. My engine is really clean for its age & Mobil 1 not only looked dark early it also smelled burnt by 3k.

Agree with that last part

Any good knife oil will work. A proper knife use involves a sharpen and oil rub before putting it away. I didn't notice any rust, but we've been butchering pigs and other high-fat animals with them, so there's some natural oil that way too. Obviously we sterilize after each use, clean, shapen, clean, oil. Pack away.
