Stabbing the needle in like Nurse Ratchet 😲😕
lol! thats stabbing and that is considered assault., i think u get the wrong idea when they said to hold the needle like a dart not to inject like a dart😂😅😅😝
اللهم صل وسلم على نبينا محمد ﷺ
The mannequin is not the same as human body. It's hard to pierce needle in that rubber thing. So maybe she stabbed to be able to pierce in the first place. Any physician knows that STABBING INJECTION ain't practiced nowadays. Not even the cardiac adrenaline Shot that used to be stabbed right in heart in case of failure..it's not recommended in any situation now..
How else are you supposed to get the needle in?
That's a basic technique.. You have to slowly press and pierce the skin with the needle through skin at a proper angle and to a proper depth ...that depends on which route you are taking (Intravenous, Intramuscular, Subcutaneous, Intradermal).. If you are a medical student, you will be taught in medical colleges.. And it gets better with practice..
@@waghchetan8 I'm not a medical student, im a patient who is prescribed self-injections to do at home intramuscular. I have always been told to go in quickly, like a dart motion, which I interpret to be basically like what she does in this video. If I go slowly a press it against the skin like you are suggesting, its extremely painful and im sitting there applying gradual pressure to the skin on my glute until the needle finally pops into the skin, always causing bleeding and excruciating pain
@@lucidlocomotive2014 I/M injection is generally painful and it also depends on the guage of needle you are using.. You are supposed to hold the injection like a pen/dart, and pierce it at 90° to skin.. But stabbing/dart like insertion is not recommended.. Also instead of applying pressure on skin try holding the bulk of muscle in between your thumb and (index+middle fingers) and then inserting the needle muscle deep.. Most of times the skin is soft and moist enough to be pierced by needle without any resistance.. I am a medical student and I have injected lot of patients so I know.. The problem may be with you access to the injection site and a little finer motion it takes to pierce the skin..
"What is this, the Middle Ages? And they call this modern medicine? This is barbaric! Barbaric!"
How we can order
YO, JESUS. NEVER STAB LIKE THAT, EVER
That stab... Never would I EVER do that on a patient. A smooth and steady motion is all you need.
Was just about to ask if we were suppose to stab like that. Appreciate your comment!
That stab made me clinch my cheeks.
Thnx♥️
No need to aspirate
Thank you for your education
Stabbing technique is painful.
well I hope you aren't a nurse, gonna eventually stick yourself
agreed that stab was awful!
This snoring remedy “Pοzοtο mawa” (Google it)works just like a champ! My snoring problems has ceased abruptly after doing . the 4 exercises recommended by it. Because I do not snore anymore I forget to do it every single day. I am looking for a means I can tell myself to do the exercises every day. .
Lo bueno es que no es un paciente que mal
Needle size
Try this snoring remedy “Pοzοtο mawa” (Google it) and you will observe the great results it will give you. I was astonished how after just 2 days of the program (doing only 4 exercises) loud snoring has stopped. Because I do not snore any longer I forget to apply it every day. I am finding a means I can tell myself to perform the workouts every single day. .
Ablam bi deriyi falan gerseydin iyiydi amma sen bilirsin yani
great for aspiration as well
Let the alcohol DRY first. Otherwise, the injection site will burn from alcohol traveling in with the needle. Also, she did wipe correctly, but did not verbalize that you wipe in a circular motion starting at the injection site and circling outward. They also didn't verbalize that you leave a 0.2-0.3mL air lock in the syringe for Z-track injections.
Have the volume off am in the library, but you aspirate to make sure you do NOT have blood - correct?/
@Natasha Dwyer 2 years late but in case someone sees this. NEVER aspirate IV, IM, or SUBQ. This is an older practice that is no longer used today
Can u plz explain me now why we leave 0.2 something air in syringe
@@Minsajang uhm incorrect wtf kind of place are you working in, if you don't aspire IM and inject a medicine into a vein/artery by accident you can kill a patient depending on what you were injecting.
What does the last sentence mean? Can you rephrase that for the layman? What is an airlock?
Que mal técnica, lo bueno que es una almohada y no un paciente, a eso se le llama un vanderillaso y muy doloroso.
what the heck is that stabbing technique you had? very dangerous and you could have stabbed your own hand with the medication!
We use training pads like this in nursing school for injections. They’re not soft and don’t have that human-like texture so we really have to do it a little more aggressively than how we would to a person, otherwise the needle can break. :) Although we’re told to inject it like a dart in real life situations.
@@kamyllepabalate3382 lol yeah same. Like a game of darts at the bar after a long day of clinical rounds. So satisfying though
i wish they used an actual vagina..
a CE course concerning patient adherence to anti-psychotics seems to suggest that this method of injection is a disadvantage. Why would that be?
Ok I know everyone is losing their shit about it not being sterile or whatever the actual fuck, but I tripped out over the urethra being like damn near 10x the actual size of the average person's
I hope you aren't an actual PCT/Nurse. If that was an actual patient they would've had an HAI.
Aspirating is not evidence based
For IM injection, Always aspirate to check for blood return in the syringe before injecting the medication. Lack of blood on aspiration confirms needle placement in the muscle rather than in a blood vessel.---- wrong routes can kill people.
I guess it takes nearly killing someone before a person learns to aspirate
Schools are teaching NOT to aspirate now.
Mine did. They said it was better to be safe than sorry.

This is a hot mess

????)??????????(????)
She did not state to wash her hands first before starting the procedure. Washing hands very important. The demo is not sterile, but thumbs up she is brave to put the demo on you tube
Crossed sterile field several times with arms
In a perfect world maybe.
SHE KEPT SAYING PAGGAGE LIKE CABBAGE OR SOMETHING
This is horrible, absolutely not sterile
flappy bee how?
She broke sterile multiple times throughout the video and did not provide perineal care prior to inserting the catheter.
According to the the Wound, Ostomy and Continence Nurses Society, It is no longer standards of care to test the foley catheter balloon before its insertion. This cause wrinkles and may injure patinet's uretra during insertion. You may need to update your video Thank you. Ginette Boudreault, RN, BSN, CWOCN
Horrible sterile field, anything below waist considered contaminated, and she is donning sterile gloves below waist.
um...why is the lady acting scared and it seems she just sought of put down the white covering haphazardly and then I don't think you aggravate sterile glove as you put them on that much. Maybe retake this video. Also, the commentary is too robotic.
Horrible sterile field procedure
no "testing" balloon ANYMORE!
jdchee this is something that was obviously pushed by management (those who don't work directly with patients anymore) people don't realize that the valve can malfunction causing the cuff to inflate, but not deflate. I have personally witnessed people needing invasive procedures done because the cuff inflated but did not deflate when they tried to remove the fluid with a syringe. keep this in mind and use your nursing judgement
jdchee same goes for ET tubes.
paggage and buttaxe. Whats that all about!
very explicit, thank you.was able to do catherisation
i agree with Jane T, the sterile field is contaminated many times.. the gloves are not put properly i.e. again contaminations
how to download this video?
This video demonstrated contamination of the sterile field many times. Surely wearing a long sleeved coat would impede you, and make it very difficult to obtain a good standard of hand hygiene?
How come Females got lube, and males didn't?
not bad, but gauze is used now not cotton wool in the uk.
