Since when does anyone need equipment to be in balance with nature? Aren't we all born deeply nature connected and naked?
Hard to stand in minus 30 naked.
@@inforestsandlands true, it just doesn't all need to be fancy brand stuff. Military surplus is fine and the 2nd hand markets are full of appropriate stuff that we need to be used before we can justify buying something new. Also DIY is a useful line to go. When we are I balance with nature, we do everything to avoid the use of energy, ressources, money and time for something new. And when we fall in the trap and dependency of sponsoring and "have to have this and that" we are having a problem.
@huckmiddeke665 agreed. But everyone is on a journey, and most outdoor folk get there in the end.
@@inforestsandlands let's hope so. I'm just getting easily confused when outdoor influences don't see how they are people buy and want stuff that is not necessary and especially not relevant and necessary in light of our global survival situation, when it's so easy to start right in the beginning and not get somewhere in the end.
@huckmiddeke665 basic human discovery psychology. Something new and exciting. It's more a cause of a broken society and market engineering. It's like the way everyone blames banks for the problems. Not the personality types of those who take advantage of the system. There is nothing wrong with outdoor influencers per se. People like to externalise blame. No one has to buy what an influencer sells. We never look at why people consume what they do.
