    Deering does not do any customizing of their banjos. No wide necks, no high bridges, no varied degrees of radius necks etc.

    • @vincef329
      @vincef329 Před 7 měsíci

      9:58 so yes mostly. If you need more space between strings say fretting with larger hands then you get a radius neck and no, there's not multiple choices. There certainly are bridges that are higher and/or wider and/or radiused. Deering can't customize? I'm sure they can. If you need a customized banjo there are boutique builders along with Huber or OME, or Nechville.

    • @Celticman197
      @Celticman197 Před 7 měsíci

      @@vincef329 Huber does not customize either. I had to have a private Luthier make me a 1-5/16ths nutwidth neck for my Huber Kalamazoo I bought from him. Nechville does but I don't like the tone I've heard from Nechville banjos. Best thing to do is get a pot from Deering and have a custom neck made, and set up the way you like it. I don't know if they would just sell you the pot though.

    Deering sells a "banjo tune up package" that comes with a new head, bridge, tail piece, and armrest. Would this kind of package and a proper set up help make the Jameson more playable and last longer?

    • @vincef329
      @vincef329 Před 11 měsíci

      New quality parts would certainly improve the tone, they would not keep the neck from warping. There's one comment here that they had no problem with the neck.

    just bought mine in 2023. 75K miles bed minimal scratches and hitch zero scratches. I want to haul a camper and transport trash in the bed. I hope the v8 should accommodate that with no problem. Mine appears exactly like yours. now that some time has progressed, do you still have yours? Would you recommend any maintenance like replace belts, chains or bearings after my 75K? also what about the AUTO 4WD function? when would that be good to be on?

    I had one i bought new probably 4 years ago for a extra so others could learn. After I set it up it was fine. Still to this day it's great. I must of just got a good one. It's nothing as good as my Deering of course lol. My daughter has it now and enjoying it at her house.

    I know it’s been a few years since this was posted but there’s another modification that will make these more secure. The weak link is the key backup, which can easily be picked, so I filled the circular key way with JB weld. Then I hung a picture over the safe, secured to the wall with hinges and a magnetic catch.

    Thx for the info, Vincent. Perhaps you may want to purchase a banjo mute. I bought a 'Happy Wife Coppers Banjo Mute' from eBay for $22 including shipping. Then there's banjobenclark.com for other types. Also, slipping a nylon sock under the strings just right'll do it, too. Picking with your fingers is a LOT quieter as well as I'm sure you know. the banjo I ordered was out of stock, so what I did was take my son's (now grown) Act 1 guitar (it's 3 inches longer than a baritone ukulele) and took the thick E string off & put a 10 gauge string in its place & luckily it tuned right up to a G without breaking. I then tuned the A string down so that it doesn't resonate. so now I have a little pseudo banjo with the right tuning. :D Now I don't feel compelled to rush out & get a banjo. I saw this brand for sale which is why I've watched your vid. Thx again for the info.

    Cool! I dig mine too, but I have the 19 fret tenor for playing Irish tunes. Great warm tone, easy to play, well shaped neck. It was well worth the extra $$ IMO for the dark finish, inlays, headstock engraving, planetary tuners, etc. I'm going to get a 'Smile' bridge and switch to a Rennaisance head at soon. *Very good installation instructions.▪▪▪>**allmy.tips/WallSafe?Hん** Installation required various tools but was easy to install with the help of instructions. Safe has worked flawlessly for months. For the quality you can’t beat the price of this safe as most similar type safes are much more exspensive. As you can see from other reviews this safe is very tanker resistant and secure and seeing the product in-hand only confirms those statements. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a high-quality, in-wall safe at a great price*
