終末感。 ここ最近、自分の精神状態のせいか、聴きに来てしまう。

これはもう８年以上も前になるのか。 2024年の現在、青葉市子は日本を代表する音楽家の一人だと言ってよい存在になってしまった。 彼女よりもけっこう上の世代である小山田圭吾、坂本慎太郎（この曲の作詞担当）、そしてさらに上の世代である細野晴臣といった、ジャンルも世代も異なるが国際的に認知度・評価の高い音楽家達が自然に共演しているのをみて、海外の音楽ファンたちは不思議に思ってるのではないか。しかし才能ある者同士はそういった壁を簡単に越えて自然に結びつき合ってしまうものなのだ。

I love the fact that the cure stole this melody for their b- side song ' 2 late'. And that Suzanne loved it.

My then girlfriend, now wife, played me this LP in '86 and mostly loved Suzanne's work ever since. My formative years of seriously listening to music were very male dominated and this album was a revelation to me.

This album has survived the test of time. The songs still sound fresh in 2023. I had this album when I was in college. I found it at a record store in Bellingham, Washington and this was the first I time I heard Suzanne's voice.

She must have clearly had older parents than I did growing up, to reference Dietrich, Dean, Bogart and Bacall, given the fact I am only 2 years behind her and never would have related to those 40's actors as a child on the playground. Still, other than that "oddity" (strictly speaking on my own behalf) I can relate to almost everything else about this song and all the others from this exceptional 1985 LP. I literally turn up "Small Blue Thing" on my car stereo, cause I love that song so much.

God haven't listen to this album in 20 years

小山田さんって障がい者をいじめてた人か…「インタビューではその場を盛り上げるために、自分の身の回りに起きたことも含めて語ってしまいました」って言ってるけど結局してたわけだもんな。小山田さんにとって戦場になったって言ってる人いるけど、本当に戦場だったのはその障がい者の子だろう。 黙ってりゃなくなる事実ではないしこういう良い曲つくれるなら、いじめを盛り上げる道具につかうような考えは今後改めてほしい。それがせめてもの償いになるだろうから。
