No one’s ass got kicked. John 5 had recently found out his sister had died unexpectedly. He was extremely emotional and hadn’t been sleeping due to the shock of his sister passing. Marlyn Manson was intoxicated and kicked John 5. I don’t know if it was on accident or just a shock rock thing. John 5 snapped due to the emotional stress he was dealing with. Manson wasn’t egging him on, he told him to pick up his guitar and play. Manson admitted he was drunk and regretted the whole thing. John 5 said he lost his cool and was in the wrong. It wasn’t a big deal and had nothing to do with John leaving the band the next year.
