Wow at 00:02 in this video, there's a Zim's on Powell street. I forgot there was a Zim's burger on Powell street. I remember the other 2 locations on Market st & Van Ness ave and the other location on 19th avenue and Taraval street.

This is the first car I ever drove. My father worked for the Oldsmobile Division in 1965 and brought one hime as a company car. Ours had a red interior, and even with an automatic, it was fast. I never thought I'd ever see one this nice again. But... no power brakes or A/C? Oh, well... still beautiful!

Moved there out of college in 1977. Worked at Crocker Bank on Montgomery and Sutter. My first apartment was a one bedroom on Pine St for something like $200 a month, got a discount on a nearby garage space for another $50. A Fast Pass would take you everywhere in the City for almost nothing. Except for the Tenderloin you could walk anywhere late at night and not be at all nervous. Saved my money and in a few years bought a house in the Avenues. Anyone with any halfway decent job could do that then.

Lived in San Francisco for 6mos when 6yrs old in 1950. The only thing I really remember is the fog and dampness.

I remember when these custom vans were all over the place in the 70's and into the early 80's. It was amazing to see the level of effort put into the artwork and interiors on some of them.
