French Polynesia's deadly wave is the venue for fearless surfers in the Paris Olympics
The surfing portion of the Paris Olympics will be held at Teahupo'o reef pass on Tahiti in French Polynesia. Teahupo'o has a fascinating-if brutal-history. The wave there is one of the deadliest in the world as you'll see in this short video I shot last year. Forty-eight surfers will compete. This is the farthest away a medal competition has been staged from a host city.

We landed in the late afternoon and by the time I got the car and got on the road it was already dark. Once I found my way to the Airbnb, I was asleep. I didn’t really feel jetlagged at all. So glad the video is helpful. I hope your family has a great super dad led trip.

I usually book through airbnb, but you can book via the hotel website too: www.waikikigrandhotel.com/ . And there's a hotel--the Park Shore--next to it, closer to the beach, that might have full ocean views.

I'm so fortunate to be born and live in cornwall. Alot of these blogs always take in St Ives Eden project and other popular destinations but locals myself included often avoid these tourist sights due to the overcrowding. One of the remarkable charms of Cornwall is the many hidden gems or rather the spots that others are not aware of. A stunning clifftop walk down to many secluded beaches where you'll find no one else is magical and not to be missed. There's much rich history to be found from pixies, the king Arthur legend, pirates , ghosts and mythical beasts. The first ever locomotive was invented here. I've been here all my life and haven't seen half of what there is to be seen. A longer stay is much reccomended to absorb fully the slower pace of life and the magical charm that permeates this beautiful land known locally as Gods county
I couldn’t agree more. I think a lot of people like me might make it to Brighton visiting London, but might not venture as far as Cornwall because of the time it takes to get there. It’s of course more than worth it. That’s what this video was for: to encourage a bit of exploration to the farther reaches. I can’t wait to get back. This was a quick sampler for me. Very interesting and good video, we are coming from the UK in August. We like walking and hiking and are pretty fit, we go on 8 mile hikes in the big hills near us, where would you recommend not to busy to hike up, but not a place with brush to get through etc, can be done in sneakers, as we are not bringing the boots.

Yeah. I didn’t pay much to stay on either island. They were all airbnb rentals. I considered an over-the-water bungalow, but didn’t want to pay 1K a night.

Great presentation, and as someone who has worked over 40 years in HOLLYWOOD, I congratulate you on your fine editing and wonderful photography! We spent 9 days in Kauai last month and it rained most of the 7 days, and only bright sunshine one day and partly the last day... and May is supposed to be the "Dry Season." The Kauai local joke about just wait 15 minutes and the rain will go away, well I don't think that comforts the tourists much. My good friend worked on SOUTH PACIFIC and they had quite rained out days and destroyed sets... years later for 1976's KING KONG we had almost the same, bad light from those dark clouds mostly. But you did very well and had good luck whatever month you chose, and I did 8 months of research and through numerous CZcams videos like yours, coupled with Google Maps for experiencing the virtual driving, they all helped climatize me to the island, but not with the weather. Unfortunately this was my very last flight anywhere, as the stress of air travel, sardine-can airlines and TSA pat-downs has ruined it for me. I came in with PAN AM and TWA, an era when travelling was fun, cheap and cheerful... You know it's a funny thing here in Los Angeles our LAX airport is the number one spot in the world for drug smuggling with checked-in luggage. Thats right suitcases full of cocaine and alike are only x-rayed for explosives, nothing else! London Airport and many airtports around the world do check for drugs in all luggage with x-rays and sniffer dogs, but LAX with it's multi-billion dollar "Olympics" makeover isn't planning on tackling the drug smuggling problem anytime soon. The local ABC station ran a story on it, interviewed all the Federal, State and local agencies, and all said it wasn't their job, but a Florida sheriff brought it to everyone elses attention when he started checking the check-in luggage in his juristiction and confiscating it. Again, good presentation and narration, at least I trust it's your own voice and not AI like so many other CZcamsrs!

I doubt I ever got to 55. This was obviously fast-forward many times to get it to two minutes. Elevated drives are a scary thrill for me. I’m usually the cause of traffic back up.

Was choosing between Kauai and Maui for our vacation this summer. I love both but prefer Kauai overall. Chose Maui though because......they need our support!
