Years ago, I started collecting old "Shindig!" episodes on VHS from a bootlegger! One of those episodes featured Evie performing "Take Me For A Little While." I remember thinking, "Who IS THIS????" because Evie was seriously gettin' down with tearing it UP! And just from that one viewing, I became an Instant Fan for Life. This new live performance of "Angel Of The Morning" is like manna - Evie, you're The Best!

The original, and still the best! So glad I got to be at this show!!

I'm so excited because I'm really at last delving deeply into your music and it just keeps getting better all the time. I only recently "discovered" your original recordings of "Take Me For A Little While," (your performance of the song on "Shindig!" was like watching the invention of fire!) "I Can't Let Go" and "Angel Of The Morning." And I'm just so captivated by all three. In the case of "I Can't Let Go" and "Angel Of The Morning" I only knew the covers by the Linda Ronstadt and Merrilee Rush, respectively (and I was pretty young when they were radio hits) and they were nice, but honestly, I didn't pay much attention to either. Just wasn't my kind of music, I guess. But now I'm hearing your original versions and it's like night and day- the songs I wasn't interested in, now they are records I MUST HAVE! but only if they are your originals. Now I'm hooked on "One Thing On My Mind" and this one, "Beautiful Lie." I've already found where to purchase a few of your earlier albums, "Any Way That You Want Me" and "Estate Of Mind." It's been some time since I've gotten so excited over discovering an artist's music and I'm SO happy to find your newest recordings! Never stop. Your voice and songwriting are Supreme Gifts.

I'm ashamed that I've had this song on repeat the past four months and only today on commenting on how utterly fantastic it is. From one of my songwriting and singing inspirations this is great and upbeat take on a breakup which, amazingly to me, is rare in popular music. Evie's band is on top form too. I second what another fan said- it's 2021 and we're still getting great Evie Sands songs which is a blessing in the world we live in. Just the whole mindset of "Get Out of Your Own Way"- Amen! We need more thinking like that. In music and in life!

Time changes everything. When did that happen??? I remember the first time I heard "Take Me For A Little While" back in Philly in the mid-60s. It was one of those holy crap moments. Fast forward to about 15 years ago and I brought "Take Me For A Little While" to a band I was playing keys for. Younger female lead vocal. We said, "listen to Evie Sands on this one. She owns it." You've got soul, lady. And that's a high compliment.
