I just met Darren McCarty last night. I mentioned the date to him and he smiled and knew exactly what I was talking about. He was walking into the Memorial Cup area in Saginaw and not many other people were around. As I was walking past him I said Darren McCarty and he put his hand out for me to shake and said hey how are you? What's your name? I told him and we chatted for a few minutes. He is a great guy and I remember this game really well.

I remember i was only 10 years old when this game played and I go sleep after 1-5 and crying. On morning im sad and go eat breakfast with my dad and he smiled and said Sweden won 6-5 and I didn't believe him and said he can go fuck himself for trying to trick me, then he show newspaper to me and I couldn't believe it after even after reading it 2-3 times. It was impossible mission, even as a 10 year old not believeing on this kind of miracle. 😂

This is why its so important to think before you act. Bertuzzi was a monster power forward in his day yet this is all he's remembered for. It was bad luck really how many times has this happened or much worse and the player was absolutely fine. Chance you take when you sucker punch somebody...if this happens outside of pro sports bertuzzi goes to prison. Simple as that
