A Drive from Babcock State Park to Monogahela National Forest - West Virginia During Fall
Posting a sped up (400%) video of our dash cam footage leaving Babcock State Park in West Virginia and driving to a camping spot in the Monogahela National Forest in West Virginia. Fall colors seem to be peak to past peak while we were here (October 20th). This video is intended for my own memories so I doubt many will watch, but if you do, it gets prettier as the drive goes on.

What a very beautiful and relaxing video to watch before bed. I would have loved to have seen the river from the air and coming in for the landing. Im trying to learn to identify the bears. I think I'll do better this year. Thank You for sharing your wonderful photography.

Don't know the rules for hunting around there. But wouldn't it be really easy for somebody to just follow 747 or 856 a mile from the river and then shoot them?
This is a protected park, IIRC. 🤔

@Jason Massey it is unusual for cub to be without mother. Did you ever see the mom? I believe a couple of mom bears have lost their cubs this year so am wondering when video was actually taken?
I didn’t see any cubs without a mom. There were some young bears but they were of the age to leave their mother’s care.
I thought the young bear where the floatplanes land was a cub without his mother. Thanks for your reply.

Hi Doc (hug & a smile) I've never been a betting person, until, I read "Pascal's Wager". Have u ever heard of it? Well, it helped me determine that GOD was obviously more worthy of betting 4....than 4 betting against. And? And, the 'odds' were more in my favor, too. (wink). As far as evidence goes? There are things in Life called coincidences or some call them accidents some call them miracles & some believe there is nothing that hasn't all ready been done. EVIDENCE then? Is in the heart or eyes or SOUL of the Believer or non-Believer. In the End? It is going to be Your's & Their's CHOICE whether GOD exists or not. FREE Will is an awesome thing, eh? I wish someone would find where King 480 Otis den is so we can keep an eye on the King of Katmai.
He's my definition of "survivor". Look, we really don't know what happens when Otis goes back to the mountains, what kind of atrocities and mating competitions he gets into, but at his old age, he just keeps on surviving. Grow old. Keep going. Be Otis. 😅
