I'd heard Watchmoor is all closed off at the minute but I was on my XC bike anyway so just did 4 cardio loops of the main trail. Deffo want to do Okeford at some point but not around tomorrow. Cheers buddy

Awesome. Its so good once you've got it done hey. Just switching the brain off I find the hardest. I'd like to start ticking off Triple R rated soon and I still haven't done Happy Ending jump yet either.

I can only presume the trail pixies who maintain the trails as part of the Friends of the Hurtwood crew. Don't get me wrong I love a good gap jump on the right trail like Secret Santa and Indian Summer but these small ones are just appearing on lots of well established trails and sometimes it ruins the flow IMO.

@@SEKTAMTB I agree I ride there and some gaps I’m comfortable with others I’d ride around. Unfortunately we are not all at brendogs standard lol

@@SEKTAMTB , it’s a good mix of everything, you’d enjoy a session there that’s for sure , it’s steep though , very steep in places in the black lines ….. when you go check out “Big Grin” it’s a superb red graded trail 👍

In one sentence...... "I have no technique" 🤣🤣🤣 I kinda just get a feel for it and try not to think too much and just let the bike do its thing. Speed has deffo helped though working out how fast I need to be to let gravity and physics take over.

Yeah it's a wicked place for sure. I've seen they have been digging some bigger stuff too in the dirt jumps area.

Yeah it's usually 20-30mins for each uplift with queue time and loading on etc. If we do a pedal up day then you just session the hill differently so you ride all the top trails with a 15min climb back up after each run. Then full run down for lunch and then back up to Popty Ping, Hotstepper, Terrys for an afternoon session. That way you only do the full climb twice. If you have an ebike then you'd deffo get more runs in than the bus.

@@SEKTAMTB Good to know, thanks. Are there 'bottom' trails that can be sessioned as well, with a short-ish climb from the car park? I'm experimenting with different wheel sizes, bar heights, suspension setups, etc, so it would be ideal to be able to do a few short-ish red/black runs, change a wheel (or whatever) at my van, then do the same runs again for comparison.

There are a few yeah. You can get up to the tunnel area quite easily and then you would have Snakebite, Zut Alors, Insufficient funds, Deep Navigation, Norkle and Bush Wacker. You can cut up to the next foreroad fairly easy though which opens up a lot more trails to come down.
